Northeast Model Products Porter
Posted by IRB Souther Engineer on Friday, November 19, 2010 9:51 PM

Does anyone know if Northeast Model Products has stoped making their little porter? It wasn't on their website in their "model train" section when I checked today. I found a link to the page somewhere on my computer: http://www.nemodel.com/shop/agora.cgi?cart_id=4017796.5156*A03bq3&p_id=2116&xm=on&ppinc=search2

(It's missing some stuff)

If you mean Northeast Narrow Gauge in Wiscasset, Maine, yes, they have discontinued all rod driven steam locomotive models.  I ordered one a few months ago when it was still listed on their web site, and they telephoned to tell me that it has been discontinued but their ISP hadn't updated the site.

A news blurb here a couple of weeks ago indicated that the owner is having health problems.

I wonder if there's any chance that Marklin/LGB might start making Porters again? I seem to remember that they said that the ToyTrain line would be discontinued, but the final Porter that LGB made was not part of that line...

If I'm thinking of the Porters you're talking about, those are some of my favorite models. I have one and wish I had more.

I noticed yesterday that some Northwest Narrow Guage kits are showing up on E-Bay.  Is this the same company?  They have a galloping goose and rail truck among their offerings.

What did you search to find them?
