Backwoods Boilerhouse - An easy beginner project
Posted by Mik on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 9:27 AM

I thought I'd share this with you all. It's a simple little project that can be completed in a single evening. If you've ever built a birdhouse, then you can make this. It's inexpensive, easy, and fun!

The best thing about this project is it's versatility. You can build one just about any size you want and it will be 'right' - from a small pumphouse to supply your water tank, to a large twin smokestack one for your sawmill... Or simply leave the chimney off entirely for a dandy lineside machinery shed!

There are no formal 'plans'... but you won't really need them. There IS an simple 'how-to' article here;

Comments or easier ideas always welcome!

That was the whole idea. Taking what you already know and helping you to get into the habit of thinking of ways to make it do new things. But, shhhhh! if everybody learns how much fun, and how easy scratchbuilding can be, then there won't be as big of a market for new spendy products to advertise in GR! lol
