Hi all,

If you're interested in Swiss Railways, both narrow gauge and standard gauge, have a "look & see" at http://www.rhb-grischun.ca/ click on "Discussion Forum" and follow along.

I decided it was time to move from the "free" space to a "real money" space [;)][;)] that could cope with phpBB and mySQL.

And, believe it or not, in the process I actually save some money.

Nice site, looks like it will be getting even better as time goes by and you add progressively too it. Swiss NG trains are really interesting.

   Have fun with your trains

Thanks Vic!

I started that forum in April last year, just testing the waters at first. Then I got more annoyed at the ads (the "free" providers get you one way or the other), which meant upgrading to "no ads". Next I suggested a few things to the thirdparty forum host and they actually implemented quite a few things.

But there's only so much coding they will do for any given project, so it was time to make a move and go with the "real McCoy". Now it will be up to me to finetune and tweak as required and desired.

It's an interesting learning experience.[;)][:)]

HJ.

Mate I havent had a look at it yet but i will after this did you know Ihave actually been on two Suisse railways they were both cog railways with three distinctly different styles.

The one up Mt Pilates just outside Luzern is the steepest in Europe and one of the steepest in the wolrd. When you go up Jungfrauoch you actually go on two different styles of cog railways you change halfway up it is the highest or nearly the highest in Europe 11,300' this is just outside Grindlewold just near the Eiger (Sanction type)
