Mixing types of plants

Can Bulbs and Annuals be planted in the area? Phase II of our rebuild will be starting as soon as I remove the current weed crop.

My wife used to do it all the time. She would plant the bulbs and the annuals (from starter trays not seed) early in the spring (first indications of last frost for the season.) The annuals would be past full bloom when the bulbs would begin to bloom.

Thank's for the reply, so we can  plant both then forget about that area till fall ( except for weeding ).
