Marc: Your comments about “Rumors” rings true and so close to home for me. Every three or four months my boss comes to me to ask my plans, when I ask what he means, he tells me that there are several people wanting to apply for my position. Seems as though this crop of youngsters want me to retire before I’m ready to retire again (I already retired twice and didn’t like it then and do not look forward to do it again.)
Ralph: (If I’d Only Known) I truly empathize with your problem. I too designed my yard inside the loops, but when the boss dictated the Koi Pond inside; my yard had to move elsewhere, so I was spared the heartache you went through.
Jack: I like your technique of Plank-on-Frame construction. I’ve been doing a “plank-on-skeleton” and never been that confident with the sturdiness. I’ve lost a few buildings to the dog & chicken races (they take turns chasing each other around the back yard.) I’m sure that my new projects will be a bit more sturdy thanks to your article.
Kevin: Even though I am a confirmed “Analog Dinosaur” I did enjoy your article (Taking control . . . again) and can somewhat understand what the folks on the forum are talking about. I might even read it again in a week or two as I’m sure I can learn more about using these systems. I may not understand the workings of the variant remote control systems, and have no desire to use any; I can still understand and appreciate that we all enjoy the hobby differently.

Ray: Oh, Ray, what can I say? I can only say thanks to the fact that there are artisans among us who so willingly share their skills and techniques.
Alain: “Large-Scale Fish” I’ve never given any thought to giving my fishermen anything to fish for, other than the 240 foot (scale feet) monsters that swim in the Koi pond. After I make a figure or two using Ray’s “lessons” I’m going to give your technique a try so my fishermen can have some catch on their stringers. I doubt the Koi will leave model fish alone. Thanks for the concept.
Don: Your cover 2nd headline (“from start to finish”) got me some serious headaches when I got home today. The wife told me about your article and as she put it “from start to Fffiiiinnnniiissssshhhhhhhhh” (her emphasis). My son-in-law had to come to my rescue by telling my wife “dad will be finished building on his railroad the day after his funeral.” I am looking forward to the following parts.

1. No, no 7/8th on stuff on my layout, I just liked the layout in the rag.

Tom I'll be going to the Southwest Garden Railroad Show at Pomona Fairgrounds, its on the same weekend as the BTS but its ALL LARGE SCALE and everyone from the MLS forum will be going to the SWGRS. I'm hoping to bring the pizza plus the Fairplex GRR is going to let some of use run our trains on the big layout!!! If you have top choose I'd do the SWGRS as its all LS, no fiddling small gauge stuff.
