Anyone know....???

This would probably be better suited for the scratchbuilding forum, but it didn't look like I would get many responses so I'm posting it here. Do any of you guys know where I can find a large scale "Cabbage" or "Rushton" stack? I am scratchbuilding an old Baldwin 2-6-2 logger that made excursions near where I live but can't find a suitable stack to use on it. For those of you who haven't seen a Cabbage stack....check out http://algersullivan.org/bring_back_100/bringback_1/IMAG012A.JPG . That is the engine I am attempting to scratchbuild (in the condition shown). I know Bachmann now has the Heislers with available cabbage stacks but I don't think they will let me just buy that part off of them? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Aaron

Aaron,
Wonderfull engine!.I think you are going to have to make the stack.Get the tape measure out and start hunting for anything that will fit.The shape would be quite easy to make with balsa and plastic tube.Just takes time and patience. At work I have a bucket in the van filled with little bits that I find as I wander about. My apprentice thinks it's halarious but he's always amazed at what is built with it!

Thank you [:)]! Well, it sounds like making the stack is what I am going to have to resort to....I just don't know where to start [:I]. I have never had to turn parts before. I was hoping I could just buy the part from somewhere [:D].
Thanks for the quick reply!

Aaron:
I would call Barry at Barrys Big Trains, He is a great guy and may have something to get you started.

Hi Aaron,
Glad to have you on the forum. Don't be afraid to post in the scratchbuilding section. We will answer it. Lately there has not been much action there but it seems to come in waves. If you contact Bachmann's parts dept. they will be able to get you a stack. Go to www.bachmanntrains.com. Hope this helps you out. Great project BTW! Later eh...Brian.

You could also take two small funnels and cut them according to the diameter you need and glue them together.
