is there a smoke fluid that makes more smoke than others ??? or are they all the same Thanks
I have about 4 different types. I've seen several threads on other forums, and the answer is "it depends" on your smoke unit itself. Different units work better with different fluids.
From my own testing, the Aristo, the MTH stuff works well. I'm not worrying about cost. You can get unscented lamp oil and it will work in most cases.

Is there a problem with the scented stuff? I have a bottle of scented lamp oil that was given to me that I thought I would try. If it's just a case of not needing the scent but it not hurting anything I would go for it. However, if there is something in the scent that would clog up the smoke unit I don't want to chance it.

We discussed this at length at various times on the Aristo, MLS, and LSC forums.
I do believe that from all the reports from users, that scented oil MIGHT clog up the wicks more quickly.
What you want is something that vaporizes cleanly and leaves no residue on the wick. When the wick looks burned or coated, smoke production drops.
Thanks Greg,
Not worth saving a couple of bucks. I won't take a chance and use the scented stuff.
