New industry

Ralston, Cereal Division, in Sparks, NV is our newest industry on our N-C-O Div. This building is a severely selectively compressed background model. In fact the only modeled part is the grain unloading track (3 covered hoppers), the interior cereal product loading track (3 boxcars) and grain elevator.

I’ve used Hardy Backer board for building basses for many years. When I became interested in modeling concrete tilt up buildings it seemed the logical choice for modeling concrete buildings.

Have fun, Rob

A nice and simple, yet effective structure, Rob.

Nice job. Thumbs Up

Thanks Brian, the building is 5’ long, the length of a backer board sheet; 1’ wide room for two tracks and 11” high, elevator is 22” high.  I can spot 6 cars at the building, I use a car forwarding system. I plan to do some detail work on the roof. I’ve been collecting “found junk” like the pull tabs from milk and orange juice cartons for vents. The build resides in Reno, under our front porch.

Having fun, Rob
