Hello All,
In my endless quest for a DCC system I have been doing lots of online research. The Zimo system interests me and I was wondering if anyone uses it?.Do you need to buy seperate transformers or is it incorperated. Also can you add handsets to the system so that more than one person can run the trains.Remember that I am in England so I have no access to your wonderful American railway shops. If anyone uses a large scale shop that does international sales let me know.(I've had my fill of German websites!)Troy

Hi Troy,
I'm using a ZIMO system. The handsets are the MX21, they are brand-new and with a bit of luck you should be able to get the older MX2 at a good price.
The MX21 and the MX2 are pretty pricey, but you can do everything from the handheld, including programming every conceivable CV if that's what's required (Much easier to do it with the PFUSCH software, though).
I'll send you an email in a sec re: dealers.

Troy, you're welcome.
On a general note, it would be nice if Garden Railways would run a write up on how DCC works in the garden.
As we all know, things are rarely created equal and avoiding some of the pitfalls saves plenty of aggravation and money i.e. that "less expensive" set-up might turn into a more expensive pain in the wallet (and close-by regions[;)][}:)][:o)]).
Cheers HJ
