Hello all,
At the weekend my brother turned up with his new teenie tiny video camera. After admiring it for a while and a few beers we (more like I) decided to stick it on a wagon and film the layout from a passenger perspective.Absolutely great fun!!

Yes! Worked great.
We hooked it up to a Hi8mm Cam and filmed the whole trip and then went back into the house and watched it, was great!!!

Hey Guys,
I have yet to try this. Aristo just came out with a new wireless camera that will transmit back to your TV. This way you can watch live what you are recording. Don't know how good the picture is but it would be neat to mount inside a cab. Later eh...Brian.

I havent tried this but I intent too, I have a 2.2m (8 odd feet) cutting that will soon become a tunnel with a removable top and it would be really something to see what your train sees, in this and many other situatuions. Running trains and having a few beers or a few wines in the evening is defintiely a good thing too.

Hi guys,
The owner of Garden Railway Studios in the UK built a bogie well car in the late 80's to carry a video camera and he designed it so the camera pivoted on the centre of the well and the bogies actually turned the camera on this pivot as it negotiated bends. I remember watching a video in his shop of his railroad and because of the pivot it was a real drivers eye view. With size of todays cameras I am not sure whether this will be easier to do or harder.
Cheers,
Kim
