Find your USDA Hardiness Zone by ZIP code
Posted by Rene Schweitzer on Monday, August 24, 2009 2:32 PM

I found this earlier this afternoon and thought I would share. If you're in the US and want to know your Hardiness Zone, type in your ZIP code here: http://www.garden.org/zipzone/

That's neat--thank you. I read somewhere that they had prepared a "micro climate" zone map that differentiated between two adjacent zip codes--for example, both downtown DC and suburban Fairfax VA are in the same zone, but I see stuff growing in DC that won't grow out in Fairfax.

Lownote, The USDA was supposed to have updated their map a few years ago, but hasn't released it (yet?) If I hear of anything more updated, I'll let everyone know.
