If I use 12dc to power my LGB 12010's ( switch throws (-+/+-) )what type switch do I need, Will a 2pole 6position rotory switch work . I don't remember where I put the first ansures I recevied. BTW will using a dpdt slide sw work without burning up the EPL I need to power some 12v LEDs from the same switch.

Follow this diagram with wiring.
The diagram says "to tracks" make that "to switch machine".
You do NOT want continuous power to the switch machine as it will burn out rather quickly. (At least that has been my experience.)
You can put a double pole double throw relay in line that will control the LEDs. Check almost any accessory catalog from the smaller scales. I have a bunch out in the "N" trunk in the garage. Think of it as nothing more than an electrically controlled switch.

Thank's Tom, I had a 2pole 6position Rotory sw in my hand yesterday, But no wallet in my pocket, And thats a first...... Looking at the rotory sw it seams as thou I can wire everything on one --- 2 positions for the reverse sw, 2 positions for the led ( red/green ) with 2 positions not used with the 2 poles as the input. I will let you know how it works out.( with pictures ) BTW I am using DPDT sw's to control my track power blocks with the in/out reversed, works fine

Well I tried the 2p6pos sw IT BURNT UP seams like I miss read the spec's for the sw 0.3 amp @ 125v ac, NOT 3amp. So since I cant do it CHEAP, it's back to 18vac and 2 diodes on SP12pos rotory. At least that way I have the knob pointing the correct way....BTW No new expence to since I've had all the parts left over from 15-16 year old power pannel and the one I had for DNRR V9. ( Do Not Repeat Resesation )

I went back to the Old school way of controling my switch power 2-3amp diodes and a rotory switch and ac ( 20v ) power. now I have to redesign a bigger control pannel .
