Rail spikes G-gauge
Posted by argilla01 on Thursday, July 9, 2009 6:58 AM
Hey, I start to build my turnouts G-track ( code 332) thanks to the template in garden railways magazine . Now I need spikes for the rails. These spikes aren't availible in Belgium, so I need to order them in the USA. Does anyone know a store where I can buy these spikes ? I made my own oak sleepers wich are 9mm thick, and than I soak them in creosot ( petroleum derivate) for a week. Hope you can help my Thanks greetings from a gardener railwayer in Belgium

Hi Argilla,

Here is another source for spikes and other supplies.

http://www.cocry.com/

A good place to do business.  I have no connection other than a satisfied customer.

You might want to think twice about using Stainless Steel spikes.  Because they don't rust they don't grip in the wood, every time the weather changes they creep up out of the ties.  The best for switches is to buy the spikes long enough to bend over on the bottom side of the ties.

Good luck with your project.

Rick
