I've been searching ebay, and have found USA/REA, LGB/REA, Aristo/REA, and REA products. what the heck is REA?

As near as I can figiure it out is that REA used to be an independent company that made G gauge rolling stock .  They used the Railway Express Agency theme as their foundation.  Then they were bought out or merged with Aristo.  It lead to a lot of duplication.  I collect Aristo Napa Valley rolling stock not to run but purely to collect and display.  I've ended up getting some equipment thats listed as being different where the only difference is the color of the box.

Right you are.

50 years ago, before there was a UPS or FedEx, small pakages were delivered by the "Railway Express Agency".  They moved the packages in special baggage or express cars displaying their "Red Diamond" emblem on most of the intercity trains, final delivery was by truck.

When Polk Model Hobbies entered the "G" gauge market, they used the REA name and emblem.  Later the "Railway Express" name was dropped, and they now use the "Red Diamond" emblem with the words "Aristo Craft Trains" on it.

USA, Aristo, MTH, LGB have all made cars with the "REA" emblem.
