LGB 24852 Red Mallet Questions

Hello,

I am trying to find information on the LGB 24852 red mallet. I assume that it was some sort of limited edition model, and a google search has yeilded nothing of any real help so if any one knows anything, please assit!

Hi,  You could try LGB in San Diego they are one of the US distribution places and should hold all info on locos        Hope this helps

 Two tone, are you referring to Silvergate Distributing (the former LGB of America)? They no longer distribute LGB products, and I doubt they would have any information. Märklin now holds the LGB  distribution rights, and Walthers is the US distributor.

 Unfortunately, I also doubt that Märkin or Walthers would have information on this locomotive.  You might search for an LGB collector's forum/web site and post there.

You might try Klaus Stork at Massoth.com.  He knows an awlful lot about LGBs.

  Checking the Internet, the LGB 24852 red mallet appears to be 2001 production from the date on the Instruction Manual which can be found and downloaded On-Line (search  LGB 24852).  It is listed as a "Limited Production" with another listing stating it was produced for sale in France (the red paint job).

One for sale NEW in Europe is listed at 1,900 euro while another one NEW for sale in the U.S. was priced at $1,700.
