Bachmann 4-6-0

 Hi, I have a track power big hauler 4-6-0 that runs great but the boiler and cab are in rough shape. I've seen battery locos sell pretty cheap and wondered if the parts would fit? Thanks for any help, Denny

If you are referring to the original radio controlled Big Hauler 4-6-0, some of the parts will fit the newer locos like the cab and probably the boiler shell but the chassis is completely different. The wheels are plastic and much of the boiler detail is plastic. If all you need are the basic shapes for the boiler and a cab then they might work if you can get one cheaply. For the rest, I would go to Ozark or make your own details. Each series of the loco got better starting with the battery R/C version, the original electric version, the plus versions and finally the anniversary versions. The "Annie" runs well and looks good with many metal detail parts.

 Yes, pretty much all the Bachmann ten wheeler body parts are the same. There are differences with the wheel chassis/motor mount as there are 5-6 different gear drive trains. Also 2 and 3 side window versions of the cab.

BTW - you can get a brand new Annie version for a 100 bucks -

 Thanks for both your replys, the chassis and wheels are ok but someone cut off the sand domes, smokestack, and part of the cab. The plastic handrails are actually unbroken and it runs around a test loop smoothly and quietly. I'd rather not buy a new engine until I see how much I use this layout as I'm new to garden gauge. I bought the engine,three flatcars, a gondola, caboose, brass track, aristocraft swithes and trackmann 6000 power supply for real cheap and everything looks and works good but the engine. I plan to start with a small 8x10 and if I like it can expand to 8x28 later.
