Alan
You can see some of my telephone poles in my photos. They are hand made ,BUT ,now I plan to rework them with fiberglass cause termites eat them and the wind knock them over if the ground is soft. I plan to make them longer this time.
Plus I have stepped on some in winter clearing snow.

Is it REAL? or Just 1:29 scale?

I just came from my shop , I have just built some telegraph poles for the Garden Railroad made out of treated wood. I put a metal stake on the bottom so you can simply push it right in the ground. Being made of treated wood no more rot, and no termite damage. I will be putting these on my web site soon, if anyone would like to see them, please e-mail me and I will send a picture to you.. Talk about serendipity, I have been meaning to make an order with you for two weeks, but events have held me back. I would very much like those new “push-pin” types with treated wood you mention.

Now I will make my order for those. Thanks for your contributions to the hobby.

I hate to say it, treated wood DOES rot. It just takes longer. I found some fiberglass 36" X 3/8" dowels from the farm supply place that sales them for electric fences. I plan to cut them to 18" so they will be deeper in the ground by 6" and paint them.
All "wood" rots, i've replaced so many decks over the past 23 years cause folks don't treat them and take care of them. OH well!!

Hello Alan
Just had a look at your train shop and your telegraph poles.Excellent.What really caught my eye though was the alluminium shelving. What a great idea! Shame you don,t make it in G scale. You lot in the US are really lucky. There are hardly any garden railway shops in England and even they only sell the basic stock items.
