Posted by Independent Operator on Monday, April 13, 2009 8:22 AM

Does anyone have a source either OEM or other manufacturer for the replacement pads for the Trackman 2000 G Gauge cleaning car?

I've searched and searched and ...................................

Any help appreciated!

Did you contact the manufacturer direct?

The pads are Bear-Tex, made by Norton.

Hand pads available here, just decide which coarseness:

Yep, the manufacturer of Trackman 2000 is still using the old story about a factory fire they had when Casey Jones was running trains making them still unavailable.

The big red disclaimer is no longer on the site, but neither is there a way to order it. Have you called them lately?

 Just curious...

I emailed him at the email address given at the site and got the reply that due to the fire they are not available and that he will contact me when they do become available.

I have a Trackman G-2000 and I noticed the pads were essentialy Scotchbrite Pads. Cutting two strips from a Scotchbrite might work as a suitable replacement.

Ya I cut up a scotch pad into one pad ( the full width) and it works great!
