Does anyone remember an article years ago about how to build or modify a flat car that would turn a mounted video camera (camcorder) as the car went into a curve instead of pointing out to the side as the car went around the curve?
I know I read it years ago and thought it was in Garden Railways. I can not find the article anywhere. I searched through my magazines and used the search feature on the website.
If you can help, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, Jim
Sorry I don't remember the exact issue but I do recall how it works. Luckily I have some pictures. Take 2 flatcars. Mount a Lazy Susan on one in the middle with an arrangement to hold your camera. A rod is mounted to each side of the rotating top part of the platform that the camera sits on and goes forward to the center stake pockets of the car in front of it. I can't say how well it works yet. I plan to make one myself in a short time.
