Some more kitbashing help needed in a bit of a hurry..please

Alright, so i have an LGB 2090 diesel   (not my pic..but this is it.. http://members.optusnet.com.au/lambingflat/050702.jpg ) and I want to add a smoke unit, lights, and maybe sound(if there's room), but I'm unfamiliar with LGB wiring... all i see without tearing the motor block apart is 2 leads labeled BR and GR and connected with a jumper...and on the other side, a lead that says WS.. anyone know what these are all for or how I could wire in the stuff I want to add?

Now..the smoke unit I have an older Aristo smoke unit from an SD45 laying around that works but cuts out every now and again..but good enough for this little project.. but I need a round stack, what would be the best way of sealing it off to work with a round stack? JB Weld? And while on the topic of a stack..anyone know the best way to make something like this?  (again not my pic..)
http://www.supertruckusa.com/Assets/Images/54896/54896-md.jpg  it doesn't have to function(preferred not to function, just stay in an open position)..and for those that can tell what it is in the pic..you've all seen them on a semi-truck, bulldozer,tractor, or small diesel loco stack at least once before..they're a rain cap for straight cut stacks...  THANKS!

BR = Brun (brown)

GR = Grun (green)

WS = Weiss (white)

Essentially, the colors of wires that would be connected to them. The WS side directly connects the rail to the motor lead. On the other side, the jumper does that. I'm not entirely certain which one goes to the motor lead vs. the rail. To power your accessories, simply tap off of the leads coming from the track. (WS on one side GR/BR on the other.)

As for the smoke unit, just mount it darned near the hood, and you won't have to worry about sealing it off. Just use some brass or plastic tube for the exhaust stack. The cap stack could be just a disk of brass or styrene, whatever you're using for the stack itself.

Later,

K

Thanks for the help ,though I'd probably need to know for sure where those wires need to run..and would I need a resistor for that smoke unit?   Also, the unit sits almost against the hood, but in planning was gonna be a whole lot lower, so it worked out for the better.  As for the cap, i'd like for it to look a bit more prototypical..but not quite sure how to make one, so was taking a shot in the dark that someone might have done so and could give me pointers :)

I don't know the exact smoke unit you have, but I'd imagine there are two wires leading to it. One goes to one track pickup, the other goes to the other. It doesn't matter which of the two wires goes to which track pickup. Now, I'd put an on/off switch somewhere in between one rail pickup and the smoke unit so you can turn it off when you don't want to bother with it. Otherwise you'll burn it out. As for the cap, the disk is a start, then you can add some brass or plastic bits for the counterbalance "tail." Building parts is a bit the opposite of sculpture. Instead of cutting away everything until you get what you want, you just add everything until you get there. I'd recommend swinging by your local hobby shop (if one's nearby) and looking at the Plastruct and Evergreen Styrene displays. If you're building in brass, look for the K&S display. Later, K

I think i'll abandon the stack cap on this particular loco...  the smoke unit i have is an Aristocraft out of an SD45.  Another question is, what size battery would it take to power this smoke unit?  I'm considering having the lights and the smoke unit battery operated to save myself from having to splice into those little wires LGB uses..
