switch levers cool site

I don't know if they could be adapted to G but the concept is cool. They are little switch levers attached to a cable system. I like the idea because I would like to put my controls on my porch and any switches would be within a few feet anyway. www.humpyard.com very cool stuff. Ineed to give gsetter over in Model Railroader forums for this site,thought I bring it over here.

This is awesome! They would be close to scale for 1:20.3! Would have to actually order some to see. I would use them for sure indoors but would have to see the entire system before I would try them outdoors. Looks very feasible though. Great find. Pass it on to OLD DAD to add to his list. Not what I want though what I am looking for is a point lever that is prototypical and a direct replacement for an LGB manual point lever.

Well I just ordered four of these levers to give them a try. As soon as I receive them I will tell you all how I like them. Decided to order four since shipping was the same as for a package of just two. Will be interesting to see what I can come up with for outdoor use. Later eh...Brian.

Hi all,
Well the levers finally showed up. Shipped very quickly but we all know how snail mail can be. Like what I received. The levers and stands are all plastic so I'm not sure if they will survive in the sun. Could be painted but again this is no guarantee. The pushrods to connect to the turnouts are stainless steel. This is good. Since they are designed to look like the levers found in a switching shed, I plan to install mine in a small building. I will still use the electric switch motor to actuate but will connect the lever to it also. That way when the switch is thrown the lever will move to the appropiate postion. I know you won't see this but I think it will look cool if you can peek in through the window and watch it. Yes I'm a "gadget guy". For indoors on display they are very nice. You can actually use these to throw your switches manually and are a very good size for Large Scale. Using a Bachmann figure next to it looks just right. All in all I like these and plan to buy more. Brian, just thought I would let you know that Model Railroader just reviewed these in the June issue, although I can't say they mention anything about them that you haven't already posted on, other than they look close to scale next to a 1:20 figure.
