Take one old birdhouse from the GRR. This two year old birdhouse, from Michael's, received a new coat of paint, removal of the old screen that it was originally fitted with, add some Plexiglas glazing, stained glass windows, and a few cedar shingles.
Stained Glass windows: Several years ago I downloaded a stained glass window pattern as a free down load, and it had remained unused for several years. I grabbed a sheet of "Vue-Graph" transparency and ran the stained glass pattern, and a couple of dark curtains through the laser color printer. I used "Elmers" craft spray glue to attach these transparencies as that glue will not cause color spread. Now for time to pass and see how long the color slides last in the sun.
Tom Trigg
Tom I also got bird houses from Michael's crafts , i got log cabins , i made windows and doors for them and i got a round bird house and made a water tower out of it . ben
Triggy,
How you capping those shakes? Not sure if I like them but there looking more intersting to me to model one like it!! (not a birdhouse).
Toad
Ben: I've got a couple of the "square log", log cabins, and a pair of the "round log" log cabins as well as a couple of the round ones. I've put the "legs" under both the round ones for a water tank but have not gotten around to doing the "plumbing" part.
Toad: "How you capping those shakes? Not sure if I like them but there looking more interesting to me to model one like it!! (not a birdhouse)." Not quite sure about your question, if you mean how did I glue them, Liquid Nails. I got them from "Ozark miniatures."
By the way Toad, seems as though my security cameras caught you (or was it your twin) courting the "hotel ladies" the other night.

No it was not my twin, I was calling on Nikki to see if she wanted to kiss a Prince!
As for capping off the top of the roof, you know where the roof vent goes? That is the cap. Just thinking how you was going to cap it off with shakes.?
