rail code 250
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, January 20, 2008 3:05 AM

Hello

I search smoebody who try railcode 250 wiht aritocraft locomotive and rollingstock. I want to use rail code 250 for a more realistic view but i don't know if it's possible.

 Thank you for your answer

Yes it's possible. Pretty much everything made for large scale will run as well on code 250 rail as it will on code 332. You begin to run into trouble if you go below code 200 (.200"), as the deeper flanges begin to start bouncing on spike heads and things like that. Fortunately, no one commercially makes anything less than code 215, so there's nothing to worry about.

Later,

K

Yes, code 250 will work without any problems. I have LGB running on LLagas Creek code 215 with no modifications or problems. The smaller rail looks more realistic.

Sure Nico,

Aristo and similar LGB sized equipment will run fine and look great on Code 250.

Here's a photo of our 2 moguls on code 250 track:

And there's a lot more photos of this sized equipment on our website:

I've always thought the code 332 looked best, but that's just me. I don't know what it is....maybe it's the fact that it's large scale, I don't know, but the larger rail just looks better to me. I've seen others voice the same opinion. I guess it's all in what you like.
