No hiding here.

If you can get past the rumrunners, revenuers and through the gauntlet of weaponry to visit me, be my guest lol but you may not survive the experience =)

Virtually everyone in the area who are into trains tend to keep quiet about thier locations too. So I dont see a problem with general locations on profiling in the net.

Brian,

Thanks for the explanation. My mind just doesn't run in directions like that. It doesn't run much in any direction, often. I just filled out my bonafides in the profile section. I see DW has a valid point.

When I first log onto the Trains.com web site I am Paul Bottino. When I select Forums, I become Camaro 1967.  I tried the service option, but it says the administrator has not allowed for username changes.

SO its Camaro1967 aka Paul Bottino

Im Mr_Ash for lots of reasons, Fire is cool + I allways wanted to be a fireman on a steam train and the few times I actually got to do it when I was younger I allways got crap from my parrents for being so dirty, Ash from the Evil Dead / Army of Darkness movies is my hero, my fav car in the first (best) Twisted Metal game on playstation was Darkside (the semi) and its drivers name is "Mr Ash" Smile [:)]

My real name is Brian but here like most places I go there are allways other Brian's and I allways get called my last name at work so its just wierd to me when people call me Brian its like "huh who wha? Oh your talking to me!" lol plus I got my name tag so its only my last name so most people just assume its my first name Dead [xx(]

Im a security officer/first responder at a office/production/warehouse type place in Montgomery / Aurora Illinois, I live east in Clarendon Hills a couple blocks from the BNSF tracks.

Below is a picture of me I took the other day when it was really warm out. It felt like summer I swear it was in the 60's and all the snow was gone! I even stopped at one of those do it your self car wash places! Its back to freezing now though, there is a ditch by the warehouse that was full of water from the rains and the snow melting when it was warm a few days ago now its frozen solid enough to walk on Dead [xx(]

Real People don't WHINE
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 8:14 AM

I have nothing to hide, I just prefer not to use my "real" name due to spambots and other nasties on the 'net. I'm also actually more fond of my handle, than my name....as it has a story behind it, and I earned it - Long ago on another board far away some fellow was posting pompous pronouncements and signing them "GOD"... I got annoyed one day and responded in my finest fake redneck, "Ef yer Gawd, thun ahm Mikky Mawse!"...and the nick stuck. I use it everywhere, except here where I am ElMik because the stupid board program said the name had to be 5 letters.

Seems like every winter people run out of more important things to think about and this subject gets revisited on multible boards. There have been boards who listened to the gripers and put in requirements for "real" names and email addies...guess what? The trolls just make up real sounding names and either use fake addies, someone else's, or throwaway hotmail addies...You annoying the regulars who value their privacy, making more work for the mods, and only slow the trolls down by about 2 minutes.... Progress? I think not.

how bout we all put our names, adresses and times when we arn't going to be home on this public forum so that everyone will be happy!

how bout letting the website owner decide what names are appropriate, oh wait they already do that don't they!

how bout we all just learn to be adults and decide that if someone wants to promote something stupid they have that right, because YOU have the right to not keep feeding their attention!!

this is such a non topic it's barely registers as funny in a pathetic way!

I've stayed out of this as I really had nothing to add, but I'd just like to point out that its not too hard to A: create multiple accounts given many people have multiple e-mail addresses, or B: get ones online freinds to sign up with the sole purpose to chime in to the support of the person under fire. Seen both here on the various forums but the former has always been far more common than the later. Even if you manage to kick out a troll by blocking their account all they have to do is sign up on another server and they can re-register under that account, thats been an ongoing problem over on the Trains.com forum with one particular individual.

I personally se the thread in question as nothing but a self-promotion, maybe in violation of Kalmbach's policy, maybe not, thats not my call. Thats why I havent posted on it. If Kalmbach allows it, then they can spout all they want, but I'll keep clear, just not interested.

BTW my info shows where I am, but I wont show a pic, no one deserves to see my ugly mug, might scare small children! Wink [;)]

   Have fun with your trains

1) You as a business can not "promote something stupid" as you said on the forums, da rules.

2) "YOU"r feeding attention just by posting here which makes me LOL if your not for it.

3) With this being "non topic" per your statement withless you still posted to the topic Laugh [(-D]

You guys aren't exactly leaving me with the "warm and fuzzies". I don't think anyone here wants your last name or address. I would be nice if you could share a first name and part of the country you live in. Sign off with a "-Joe" and something like "upstate NY" in your location. It just helps to build a community but its your choice to belong.

This thread adds nothing to the forum, nor to the topics that this particular forum is meant to offer for discussion.

The only thing that Kalmbach wishes to forestall is the use of names, descriptors, adjectives, and other forms of speech that are not in keeping with its policies and family orientation.

As a general rule, if any members find something objectionable, please help out the moderators by clicking on the blue link "Report Abuse" at lower right, inside every post, and we will take a look for ourselves. I am locking the thread.
