I'm not sure which way to go for power for an around the ceiling G scale layout. The run will be about 80 feet with one siding. I will be runnining one bachmann 4-6-0 big hauler and one Bachmann three truck shay that is dcc and sound equiped. I want to be able to turn it on and let it run automatically, and when one train makes a complete loop, the swiches switch and the other train leaves the siding and does the loop back to the siding and then the switches switch back and the first train take off again. I would also like to access the sound in the shay. Do I need dcc for this? I have a ho scale dcc layout, but G scale and automation is new to me.

DCC would certainly simplify your world.
It is enough that Jesus died and that he died for me.
