Wednesday’s Child at Brookside Gardens with the WVMGRS
Posted by altterrain on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 11:01 PM

Our club (http://www.wvmgrs.org/) and the folks at Brookside (http://www.mc-mncppc.org/Parks/brookside/light.shtm) hosted special guests this Monday. NBC4's (Washington, DC) Barbara Harrison stopped by with Joshua, this week's "Wednesday's Child". "Wednesday's Child" is a long running feature on NBC4 with Ms. Harrison. It highlights a child who is available for adoption. Ms. Harrison and Joshua toured the conservatory and spent some time watching and even running one of the trains (I brought a battery/RC train with me). The club presented Joshua and Ms. Harrison WVMGRS hats as gifts.
The "Wednesday's Child" segment can be on the NBC4 website here - http://video.nbc4.com/player/?id=194711#videoid=194711 (I had problems with the video stopping, cured by hitting the pause/play button twice). I make a cameo appearance behind Ms.Harrison at one point.
The WVMGRS holiday train display will be running until January 6th.

A few pics of the display and light show –

Nice job!Thumbs Up [tup]  I am glad that smaller kids still love trains.  My son (14) would rather play xbox than spend 5 minutes watching trains.  Giving Joshua a engineering hat was a nice touch!

We have the Wednesday's Child segments on our local Fox News affiliate.  Every time I see it, I want to give one of those kid's a home.
