The Price Is Right

I've never been a Drew Carey fan, but I love The Price Is Right. They gave away two Bachmann large scale sets this morning. There may be hope yet.

Robert,

I had to admit that when I saw your email, I wondered what it had to do with trains. . well, I was wrong. I seem to recall that other (possibly Bachmann) sets have been on the Price is Right years ago.

Other sets I've seen are LGB with Pola structures, and Lionel O scale sets.  Haven't seen any Bachmann sets yet, but I'll try and watch it today and see.

Funny thing about these train sets...the contestants always bid way too low.

UPDATE

You were off a bit, and there was only one train item up for bids.  It consisted of two LGB, not Bachmann, starter sets along with what looked to be either an Aristo or Pola depot, didn't get a good enough look at the depot.  Actual retail price $1251.  Bidders as usual were way too low.

For Shame on you!!! Here was I expecting a thread on A.G.Price of Thames -the most prestigious of New Zealand's geared locomotive builders, and it is about a TV show....

For those who love NZ lokeys here is a reminder of them in all their "honesty"!!!

Post Scriptumn: both Vic and I have build models of the Price 16 wheeler -although we ended up with two totally different looking models....

LGB huh? Cool. That's a bit better than Bachmann. I was just glad to see trains.

Me too Big Smile [:D]  It's always fun to see the Price Is Right bring out the train sets.  They also have a ride on "train" that they will occasionally bring out for certain games.

You mention you love the show, do you have a favorite game?

I like cliff hanger...the yodeling guy that falls off the cliff if the contestant goes too far over the price.  My sister went to the show a few years ago.  She says it's not as impressive being there then seeing it on TV.  Impressive or not she kept the name tag.

Yeah that's a good one. My wife hates it because of the yodeling. I kinda have always liked the safecracker game.
