I am a CAD instructor in an Area Technology Center in KY. I teach AutoCAD and some of its side programs.
Some of my advanced students are currently "creating" symbols to represent various pieces of LGB track in plan view...with the intent of designing a layout...then building it for a semester project.
Of course, they have to take into consideration vertical alignment as well as horizontal....that is where the real fun begins. I have received several good comments from others on this Forum about vertical alignment (grade) on a g-scale railroad....and am passing that info along to my students.
When they have finished the symbols, I will be happy to share with you...and others if needed.

p.s. If anyone would like to share dimensions of track pieces and accessories, please do so....there are several pieces I do not have for the students to draw.
I'd also be very interested in Acad symbols and help create some as well. My trouble has been finding reliable information on 1:1 narrow guage rails, ties, tie templates, etc. Seems that each railway had their own standards. The switches, ties and rail on the market today seldome reflect any actual design (if there is such an animal).
I've settled on 4x6 ties 6' to 6'-6" long at 20" -24" spacing for my main line. Spurs and branches are light rail and 24" min spacing. Turnouts are based on ties with 6" increments and spaced to fill between bearing points. These can be 18" - 20" on center. Rail spacing, diverging dimensions etc are from Armstrong's book.
Anybody have a good source of information?
