Looking for any suggestions on remotely controlled switch machines for Aristo SS turnouts. I am very disappointed in Aristo's machine.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I only use the LGB EPL drives, and control them with the Aristo/Crest 55475, LGB control box, or indoors I made my own panel with 18 VAC and diodes to polarize the signal to the EPL unit.

Outdoors I have to occasionally clean/clear a switch of debris, indoors I have 5 years of no trouble.

I saw USA #6 switches at York PA a few months ago and I was impressed with their looks.  Has anyone tried them?

Looking for any suggestions on remotely controlled switch machines for Aristo SS turnouts. I am very disappointed in Aristo's machine.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am going to try some old Right of Way, slow motion machines, mounted under my support system. Similar to Tortouse machines, ROW is now outta business, but I purchased them right, and they will be under the track outta the direct weather. If they perform OK, than I plan to install them all on my line, Tortouse machines that is. At present I have about 15-#6 switches and 25-Wide radius switches in my line.

Will be adding an additional 15 or so switches for another ladder storage yard and upper loop.

This is an update from my earlier post here----I was at a meet with the Clubs here in our area at the rodeo grounds yesterday, and found a number of the LGB 1600 switches, I do plan to use their machines on the inside yard areas of my layout, than discard the switches them selves, as I do use the Aristo stainless steel switches, along with toggle switches and hard wiring to operate them.

And all switches on the outside will be remotely controled using the slow motion switch machines I mentioned earlier

Don't know how much cost is an issure, but I use air power to switch my turnouts. VERY weather resistant.

Here's a page on my web site with some explanation and pictures: http://www.elmassian.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=91&Itemid=101

I run DCC, so I use electric solenoids to control the air, and a DCC decoder to control that. The solenoids and the electronics can be located far away and under cover.

You can also control the air motors with an inexpensive "air" toggle switch, again mounted wherever it is convenient.

Regards, Greg
