DCC Sound in a Stainz
Posted by Cheese on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 5:53 PM

Hey Ya'll,

I am primarilly an HO scaler, however, I have alwayshad a passion for European Narrow Gauge (with a Mix of American, but thats another story) Garden Railways.

I'd like to add Soundtrax's Sierra Peanut/European Whistle DCC Decoder in a Stainz. Is this hard to do?

Hi Cheese, I would surjest that you find out from both suppliers as to what is compatable,  can you fit sound in tender or will it have to go in loco.  If going in tender wheels will need to pick up power if in loco as I say get good advice from the makers or a good service agent.   Hope this helpsSmile [:)]

Thanks,

But the Stainz is large and does not have a tender, so I have a feeling it will fit in the locomotive. I think I posted this ttopic in the wrong section of the GR forums. I will move it to the Control section if anyone wants to help.

Hi Cheese if putting it in loco MAKE sure that the sound board does NOT come into contact with any other circuit boards or any thing metal
