Need a part for my PFM 3 truck Shay
I need the universal joint pieces for the tender truck for my PFM 3 truck Shay by United. I don't even know where to look. I wondered if the Bachmann part could be used and if so where it could be found. This seems like a hopeless search, yet you guys do miricles sometimes.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low.

Try Northwest Shortline.  Bachmann only sells complete trucks not parts. Also the U-joint is a hard rubber ring that the shaft ends fit into

 Art?

Go to Yahoo groups and look for "Brasscollectors".  Great bunch of folks. I'm sure someone there can help you. Btw I'll look through my files and see if I can locate the tutorial that I found that actually shows a simple and effective way of building a universal joint. It looks and functions just like the ones that PFM (United) used on all their shays. The best part is you only need simple hand tools ( I'm sure you already have) I'll see if I can locate it for you .
