Chief,

THis is the type of book we need (those of us who have mostly modern stuff). I may have to check this book out eventually. Perhaps you can read it and use a couple of interesting points he makes (like traction tires) to be topics for posts.

Probably a good book Chief. But I've been using 3M carpet tape to hold traction tires on for years and it works just fine. No muss, no fuss, so there's one idea of mine I'm gonna stick with.

Just had time to browse it but already used his suggestions. The new/used MTH steamer threw a tire. Rubber cement would hold it for a while. He has a section on those. He suggests you use a size smaller in diameter. [tup] Had one new one that was too large in diameter for a Lionel diesel and it threw it off immediately. Its smaller in diameter than the one the steamer threw. Right width. Guess where it is running now? You guessed it. Stays on. [yeah] Some great stuff about TMCC and DCS boards, motors and etc. Better go on line or call Kalmbach and get one.
