Late evening all!

Hot and hoomid! Hey summertime!

Worked on my 2001 GMC Sierra P/U A/C today. Slow leak that I cannot locate and no compressor oil residue to indicate the possible culprit area. Recharged and bought some U/V dye. It has been in the shop 3 times (2 different shops) for this and no one has found the real problem. Next time I will add the dye in the recharge/evacuate process.

Hope everyone is well as can be! Chief - keep improving!

Regards, Roy

Another hot one, along the Patterson Creek cut-off. Stayed inside most of the day, after busting my arse in the garden spreading mulch. Engineer buddy called me to take video of a special train he was piloting down the road, so I took FifeMax along. Came home and got back to working on the engines. Trying to free the newer 3 volt batteries from MTH 2.0 diesels is a struggle and a half. At least the BCR slips back into the cavity with no effort.

We also booked the Auto Train for FifePup's nuptials this November.

Angel for our Troops.

78 and 81% humidity.  Bed time.  Was a good chemo day [if you can have one  of those].  Dr. very positive.  Was long one but left with great attitude.

Bed time.  Sleep tight.

No post for 13 hours or any on Friday.

Hot it's summer in august 100

I'm laying Gargraves, I glue it down. After cutting it's hard to get the track pins back in, I have needle files to deburr the track holes. I want to finish all the track before I start wiring which I dread. Well thats to strong but that's my least favorite part of making a layout.

Evenin' folks. Long day. Wifey had baby duty all day, which meant I had yard work at Middle Princess estate. Finished early there, then had enough energy to cut back the neighbor's driveway (also undergoing chemo), which was three feet high in spots. Was supposed to be off this weekend, but called in for tomorrow's all-day trip to Petersburg.

78 degrees and 79% humidity.

Visitors and lots of phone calls. Wifey and I had no nap today. Just had super dose of steroids. Shakes.

Off to bed [recliner].

No posts on Saturday

Several times here I am typing away and look up and my post is all screwed up where the last I typed got moved somehow into the middle of what I was typing. Extremely annoying.

Yesterday I had a 20% of cupon for Denny's, I got 55+ Salmon with two sides. They gave me the wrong sides but they were good so I didn't say anything. Then the server brought me another plate with the right sides so I got a good deal.

Normal day at church, I like church.

Full summmer heat.

Mornin' boys and gal(s). Muggy and 73 in the Potomac Highlands. My goal was to stay home and inside today. Wifey has other goals. Place yer bets...

I can say that yesterday was the hardest I've ever worked on a tourist train.  Apparently we were traveling on the Gremlin Express, and the entire crew had to overcome a plethora of obstacles. We were also dealing with a heat index over 100, which probably triggered some equipment failures. As I tend to do, I just lower a shoulder and keep the legs pumping. And when I got home, my feet and legs were certainly "pumping". Took two Motrin's, then Zzz.

Hey all!

Been busy with friends that are in town.

Drove the GMC 250 miles and A/C working great.

Good NASCAR race (Daytona) last night - but the wreck with 3 laps left messed up some really good bump&draft racing that would have been more fun had they made it to the end without the wreck.

Have a great day all!

Good Evening,

Prayers for all those along the Gulf, they certainly have had more than their share of catrosphies!

I talked with the Chief earlier today, he sounded really good!  But, still feeling weak, some chest pain, and runs out of energy quick.  But at least he was feeling better.  He is a real fighter and has a strong disposition, I'm sure he will get through this, if his patience lasts out.  Many Many Prayers for him!!

Roy, I certainly agree with you regarding the Nascar race!  It was a really a "nail biter" most of the time, so close to "the big one" for 3+ hours.  (Would like to have seen Joey Lagano win, thought he had earned it.  BTW the Infinity Race the night before was equally exciting.  Four cars, door to door, bumper to bumper at the finish line!  And 3 of THEM were team mates.

Dennis, Kay and I enjoy Denny's as well!  Some of our favorites is the Sr. Samon, and the Sizzling Bourbon Chicken Skillet.  Also don't forget with an AARP card you get a 15% discount.  Always a good deal.  Also try their Multi Grain Pancake combo!

Fife, I remember those days well at Knott's!  One day I was running the "Galloping Goose", and as I came around a significant curve, the right front wheel hub, went rolling past me on the right side!  Definetly was kinda of scary!  There is only one holding the wheel on the axle!

Spent the day today mounting a 42" TV in Chris' garage.  He and 2 of his neighbors are frequently hanging together, and we had a new in the box TV we got FREE, so donated it to their cause.  Looks really great!

That's about it from here, so take care all! And be safe & healthy!

Don

Mornin' boys. Oh, Wifey won out. Mornin' gal(s). Overcast and 71 along the Allegany front range. Flash flood warnings in effect til tomorrow night for remnants of Ida. Was up late last night watching the storm batter the Big Easy. Those storm chasers are nutso.

Spent yesterday afternoon at Middle Princess's castle, helping her pour and spread white stone in her backyard garden. Gonna need more rocks. Steaks on the grill with Youngest Princess and her BF before they headed back to college, for more knowledge.

Website really slow this morning so I'm taking a chance.

I was late getting a cellphone of any kind. 3 years ago my 1st. my computer is my entertainment in the evening and I have been reading up on iphones. At the big churches I go to I see a lot of phones and can now identify at least what group a iphone is. A awful lot, actually most have a $600 to $1,000 phones.

Monday, slow on the North Bluff but lots of action everywhere else. News media has all but forgotten the fires still burning down the western states. More profit in yacking about the weather in the south and the withdraw from that place we should have never been. I think those people would get tired of those storms and get out of there! It is never going to end you know that!
Dryer than a popcorn Fart here but better than what others are getting. I have not been doing much just plinking around on the back end of the MoPed project. It is running fine now. Working on making a working air filter for it because it is missing the original and trying to pull a little shine out of the original Patina. I have the leg shield mounts built and the shields mounted so the whole project is winding down at this point.
Dennis, Yes, this site sucks! Laugh
Chief, keep up the good fight! Angel
See there is a little shine in that old paint.

Most all Vegas are drag cars now.

I had a disaster on my layout today, I left something on the track and did'nt look and turned on the power. The engine fell 4ft to my carpeted floor and took the whole train with it. Only bent a handrail on one of my favorite engines. Broke a plastic truck side frame on a box car, and damaged the railing around the dome of a tank car.

Good Evening,

Dennis, sorry to hear about your mishap, but at least it doesn't sound like a lot of damage.

Kevin, That is one great looking MoPed!!  Sure would attract a lot of attention out here!

Spent the day rewiring some shelves so the passenger cars will light up.  Have 2 switches to turn them on, 1 in the train room, the other in the dinning room.

Talked to brother in Reno, the smoke is really thick!  And things are a bit crazy with everyone evacuating Lake Tahoe.  He lives about 60 miles from that fire.

Take care all and stay Safe!

Morning all.

Dennis glad it wasn't and worst than it was. Glad there was carpet there. That has me thinking about my flooring here in the new house.

Kevin that is a nice looking MoPed.

Still have more to move, hope to have it done this week.

Hope all have a good day

At the drags you see lots of Vegas, never were very many Vegas at car shows, there were quite a few street Vegas a long time ago, I guess some are sitting, some got junked, some became drag race only. I'm on a couple of Facebook Vega groups and their active. Prices sure have gone up from when I had them.

Yes really nice looking moped.

cooler today so I'm going to mow the lawn front and back before it gets hot again.

Mornin' all!

(Got a long post on the other board explaining why I dropped off the face of the earth for the last couple of weeks, I'll copy and paste it over here later.)

Made the decision last night to stay down here in Virginia for the rest of the week and skip the Rutgers game on Thursday. Tough decision - Tyler didn't think I needed to stay, but with him just starting to drive on his own, with this damn storm coming up this way, and with the situation just not feeling stable down here, I just thought it would be better to stay. There will be other games, but getting Tyler off to a strong start in school will only happen once. The original gameplan was to have him down here living on his own as of the end of July. But without that car viable it couldn't happen.

Linda, of course, thinks I should stay down here an extra week. Man, she does not understand boys. I want Tyler to have a good base to go on, but I do not want to be hovering over him. It's time for him to stand on his own 2 feet. We'll be there if something happens, but he needs to find his way. Constantly checking on him is not going to help him do that.

Now I need to figure out how I'm going to watch the game down here on Thursday. Damn!

Really want to get home. I've spent 6 weeks down here this summer, just hasn't felt like much of a summer.

I hope everyone is staying healthy. Banks is still on my mind. Talked with my brother out in NE a day or two ago, the hospitals are filling up out there. He was talking to an ICU nurse last week, she said 80-90% of the cases are unvaccinated, with 100% of the cases in ICU being so.

Have a good one.

Yes Dennis, Most got junked. The 70s & 80s were not good years for any cars. I had a 1978 LUV truck that rusted out from under me in eight years after doing everything I could to keep it in shape. Replaced it with a 1986 S-10 and that was no better. The Vegas like all the Chevys were already rusting sitting in the showrooms back then. Laugh

What did you do to stiffen up your V8 Vegas? I have herd of them flexing so much on hole shots with V8s in them the windshields would pop out. Surprise

Cooled down nice today here as well.

96 and 104 heat index. Suppose to cool tomorrow with some rain.

Back in the office. Checking on bank accounts and etc. Rested and napped since not much sleep last night.

Hope those in the storm's path are not flooding. Prayers for those who have lost everything.  Rifle forum buddy in NOLA is running on generator.  Survived good.  Has gas for lots of days.  Then truck gas.

Remember, tonight is Pot renewal.  Please include years in the title.  Thanks

Evenin' all!

Starting to get some rain here in Charlottesville, from the radar looks like one of the bands of precip is coming through the state.

Gotta get the grill going for a late dinner for Tyler and I before the rain gets heavy.

Have a good one!

Howdy all!

Well, I got set up for watching the RU game tomorrow night, took a little work, but Tyler and I figured it out.

Started getting rain and wind from Ida last night, still getting it sporadically. Looks like it's going to go through northern NJ: hope everyone's safe up there.

Everything's going well for Tyler so far with school and driving and all that. He'll be on his own next week, so I want to make sure he's all set for that.

Have a good one!

Mornin' all!

I'm hearing northern NJ is a mess from Ida. Lots of flooding, approaching the level from Floyd back in 1999.

It's ironic that I chose to stay in VA, because there's lots of questions around the Rutgers game which is supposed to be played at 6:30 tonight. A lot of road closures right now, and the Raritan River hasn't even crested yet. That should happen some time in the next hour or two is what I'm hearing. Doesn't affect the stadium, as it's high above the river, but it does affect the infrastructure in the whole area.

This is from Google at around 8:15 this morning:

Everyone being affected by Ida stay safe!

Have a good one!

Rutgers game has been postponed until Saturday. Unreal flooding up there.

Not sure if this will post:
