Morning. 57 degrees. Sunny with some breeze.

Heading east soon. Still a lot of flooding. TV reports 290 roads closed in NC.

Fred reports a lot of does and one nice 4 this AM. Means the bucks are moving.

Enjoy your day.

  Means the bucks are moving.

Chief, Bucks have been pushing here for over a week now. I am seeing a lot of them. Turkeys are in hiding.

Hard freeze last two nights. Had a fire burning last night, was nice. Calling for rain but it looks to be falling apart to me.

Covid is running wild again and it looks like another lock down is not far off. People just can't do the right thing so this is what they get. None of it changes much for us out here in the woods.

Just got word my Cousin’s husband’s brother was buried today. Died from COVID-19 driven issues. Kind of brings it close to home. Why does it mean nothing to people till it hits home? We are so stupid at times.

Oh, on the way home from dropping Linda, while flipping channels on the radio, I went past 106.7, WLTW, Lite FM out of NYC. And, yes Virginia, they were already playing Christmas music. Unreal.

Here in Virginia we've got a local station that starts playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving, at least they hold off, then it's "All Christmas, all the time!"   I'll listen for a few minutes if there's some good selections, then go to another station.

The wife was watching a Hallmark Christmas movie the other day, and I had to ask, "Uh, if it's Christmas why is there snow on the ground but there's green leaves on the trees, and they're not evergreens?"

"Shhhhhhhsh!"  she said!  "You're not supposed to notice!"  Wink

Good evening all,

Strange day.  Did get to see Honda train with 2 tank cars as well.  Went shopping at Wally world.  What a zoo!  Could not stir them with a stick.  Mulched one small section of the yard maybe for the last time or if not will not take long the last time either.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 39 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Nothing planned for today, but may head to Prego Princess castle to paint some more.  I have my Queen back in her castle, after picking her up at the Oldest Princess castle yesterday.  She's been there since Wednesday, and we had the grandsons' birthday party.  The Curly-Top loves his Lionel Toy Story remote set (G scale).

Clouds and wind rolled in after outdoor Church [which was comfortable temps. wind got up and kids chased leaves].

Did some train changing. Backed long multiengine coal train into the mine area.
Built a two engine stack/piggyback train. Now two engine grain train and the two engine stack train run the two main lines.

Wiped down rifle and stored in safe.

Gail from Athens GA just arrived for a few days.

Chicken pastry and turnip greens with hushpuppies for dinner. No lunch as had BoJ's before Church.

Rest up from all the hard work in the Train Box.

Pretty good day today!  Worked the club's train show, sold some stuff I'm not using anymore and picked up a Williams Baldwin Shark set, two A units and the B unit, and in Delaware and Hudson markings.  Got a very  good deal and was lucky to find it considering it's been discontinued for several years now.  Personally I consider the D&H's blue "Warbonnet" paint scheme nicer than the Santa Fe's, but that's just me, if anyone disagrees that's fine.  And I'm a fan of the Williams pre-Bachmann products anyway, so it was a nice find.

Helped with the post-show tear-down and I'm beat!  I'll unload the Hy-yun-dai-yay in the morning, too tired to bother with it now.

It was great to have a train show after so many months of none, but we're not sure when we'll have the next one, we'll have to see what 2021 brings.

Good evening all,

Yesterday the yard was done.  Last night strong winds blew some ginormous leaves from somewhere undetermined into the yard.  Some are piled up along fences and some are scatted across Hades' half.  Will wait a few days and see what else blows in ( or out ) before taking any action.  At least the roof is cleared off.  I gave up on the Hopper puzzles and boxed them up for the grandkids to fool with.  Back to the office for one day tomorrow.  State starting to shut down again (AFTER the election, go figure).  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Evening Gents,

Today was very windy. After Mass, the wife let me use "her" garage stall to change to the winter tires.

In hope of getting "my" side of the garage available for the winter, I hauled some (heavy) stuff to the storage area.  My back is not happy, so I took an Aleve and hope it kicks in by bedtime.

We got word this afternoon, that our daughter was exposed to the China flu, and so now she's in quarantine.  Her school went back to Zoom classes this past week anyway.

Snip,

Evenin' all !

Snip, My daughter is a teacher and they had started back on a split class basis about mid Oct. Group A is in class Monday and Wednesday, group B on Tuesday and Thursday. Fridays both groups are on zoom. Fortunately out of 4600 students they have only had one student and one teacher test positive. As a parent you are concerned for your son and/or daughter but also that if they were exposed it could be brought home to their family. The school has a pretty agressive testing/monitoring system so that helps to alleviate some of the concerns.

I've been to the museum only once since this WuHan flu started. Grumpy  I'm penciled in for Dec 13th but that is assuming, I know spell assume, that Cali is not still in the Purple Tier.

Night all !

Good Evening,

Not much from here, just a beautiful day!  80 degrees, no wind, all sunshine.  Was a short day, almost dark at 5:30.

Sure home this Covid doesn't get as bad as it sounds.  We don't hardly go anywhere now, can't imagine being on more of a quarantine!

Take care all and be safe!

Morning. 57 and sunny. getting ready to take Caddy for its second service. 9+ K in 14 months. Doesn't get driven enough. Dealer lady tried to talk me out of getting it serviced due to oil life. I do 5K or 6 months. Not driven causes moisture. New synthetic oil is better but still get it serviced.

Got sinus infection. Guess I need to go to Dr. Getting bloody. Need to listen to Wifey. Sucking dry leaves with mower dusts you bad. She says wear mask. I'll listen one day.

Good Morning, from Sunny and chilly Central NJ

46 and a 20 MPH breeze - storm roared through last night - was over by 1030 or so.

Saturday night ran over to Jenni's parents and her niece and nephew were there, helped her Dad and put away Halloween - He's laid up a bit with 2 torn rotators....

Sunday we cleaned up the basement a bit, made some progress - will be building an Z scale layout for the coffee table and once the tree arrives, will be doing a traditional Lionel set up.  Chicken dinner and watched Backdraft (Jenni hadn't seen it....).  Backdraft 2 on the watch list, we both haven't seen it yet.  Afterwards, cleaned up the guinea pig cage and I was home by 1230, so a short night for me.

Flint - at least SOMEBODY went to a train show......

Prayers for all today....

That's all for now -

Well, we had a pretty good day, 100 visitors, which was better than we expected, it was a one-day show after all.  Last year about this time we had 200+ visitors but of course there was no COVID to worry about.  Everyone had a good time too, which is what really counts when you come down to it.

We're kicking around the idea of making the next show a two-day affair, there's a venue available at a decent price, and if it's two-day we can get some exhibitors who wouldn't bother with a one-day.  Considering the efforts involved for show travel and set-ups we can understand their reluctance to do a one-day show.  Anyway, it's a "when and if" at this point, no firm plans.

Do what you think is right Mr. Vega, and what brings you comfort.

Considering the spikes in COVID cases (and authorities in several states having meltdowns over the same) I don't think all the precautions everyone were supposed to take have done one damn bit of good.  Anyone doesn't agree with me, that's OK.

OR, the other explanation could be there's a lot more testing available than there was months ago.  Stands to reason, more testing, more positive cases. Why would that surprise anyone?

What also makes one wonder is the same individual receiving multiple tests.

In a period of about 60 day I was given three tests prior to entereing the infusion center, before cararact surgery and before entering the cardiac center. All negative of course.

Reading along,,,,,,,,,,,and makeing me sick as I read.

I used to revere my elders for their knowledge as I grew up. I would love to sit and listen, and see what they have been through. Most of the older guys today I see here. I would get sick knowing you have learned nothing from the past or those before you. SAD!

If someone, like myself, receives multiple tests and there is no change in the results whether the original is - or + how are those results incorporated into the overall results for the city/county/state.

Woof...

Ok, I too have opinions about COVID 19, the US political scene, World events, the Great RESET, etc...  And there have to be tens of thousands of forums that I can go to, that will allow for free thinking vents and rants on what troubles me.

This forum's trend is to keep things as light-hearted as possible.  We kid.  We share.  We support each other.  When possible, we actually mention trains.  It's an easy trend to follow, right?

Yes Yeah

Morning all.

I cleared the 4' x 12' area that needs carpet to do the addition of the 6 track yard. I May try adding carpet to that area today, but I first have to remove the 4' x 4' piece as it is missing a section about 8" x 30". I will replace it with a piece of plywood cut from the board I just bought the other day. Instead of trying to cut a piece to fill the hole and have to support it where it joins the board. I also need to put some more cross-beams/pieces to support the 4' x 8' piece in the middle and other places. And maybe a leg or two. I also need to get some of that two-sided carpet tape.

52* and going to 67* today.

Need to take my morning drugs and get moving, Need to make some breakfast. Talk to you all later

Good Morning

Longer night last night, was in bed by 930.  I was tempted to stay up and watch Young Frankenstein........

Put out the heated water bowl out for the ferals, I also installed a 20X20 tarp over the existing tarps and made the entrance way a little smaller.  Also put the heated pad out there so the ferals can stay warm.  It survived Sunday night's wind and rain storm, so I was happy about that.

I may run up to the train store tonight and grab Jenni on the way, I can't go tomorrow as the fire house is setting up for the Christmas tree delivery on Saturday and sales on Sunday.  Saturday after Christmas tree duty, and Sunday, will be getting ready to set up for Thanksgiving - and I'll censor my comment about the "governor" of NJ.
So, busy weeks ahead, should be interesting.....

41 and very cloudy here in Central Jersey and it's going to get colder - High of 50 tomorrow, then 60s through the weekend.

Prayers for Roy continue.......

Spank, the price of wood is nuts,,,why who knows?? A stud that used to be $2.50 is now $7.00???? Price changes of a new house proves my point.

Ran the trains last night for over an hour and nothing went wrong or even had any issues. I think I liked it better when things screwed up. Laugh

We have no idea on how to do Thanksgiving with all the stuff going on. My ideas of how the world works are just that. The SIL's 29 year old sister has got very sick, all of the COVID-19 things. She got a test today but because of all of the others she will not know for days, so she is living up stairs as the kids,,two boys and her other half are living down stairs. I told the daughter okay for watching the kids next week so they can work. Hope it works out. This thing is real, more every day for us.

Stay safe and protect your loved ones. Pray for peace among us.

Sure wish CTT would fix this site so you can log off if they are not going to secure it. Angry

Mornin' boys.  Sunny, brisk 34 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Had a brief snow squal yesterday afternoon.  Lots to do around Fifedom, as Fifepup and fiance' are coming to visit this weekend.  Did spend yesterday at Prego Princess' castle, as son-in-law and I installed 3 ceiling light fixtures, and I refitted a shelf in nursery closet.  My arms were aching after all the reaching up.

FifeMom still hangin' in there, but experiencing leg swelling again.  I get up the mountain several times a week to visit, and call her every day to "check in".

Youngest Princess coming home from college next week.  I have doubts about in-class Spring semester.  I feel bad for her, because she loves her independent lifestyle she enjoys on campus.  Who wants to hang out with their parents at age 20?

NRHS chapter meeting tonight, in Cumberland.

Good Morning from a frosty windy Central NJ - 32 this morning, up to 50 later

Was a long day at work - did some cleaning prior to me leaving to get Jenni her dinner, her job beats her up pretty good so she was very sore.  The trip to the train store was aborted because it was getting late and she wasn't feeling up to par.

We did watch the NY Electric trains auction and sale I made it home by midnight.

My niece's wedding has been cancelled until 11 Dec 2021, as the dictator in the state of Virginia declared 25 people max.  Wedding will go on, the reception will be next year.

So, as of right now, I'm off the hook for the hotels, dinner and brunch, and now we can attend Lionel Train Day at the local LHS - the wedding is at 11:30 AM and will be done live on YouTube or something......so we can watch that and then do train stuff - the kids are also off, so we'll do dinner and brunch on Sunday.  It'll be a nice weekend off.
We are having Thanksgiving dinner as planned.  Last year was Dad's last Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow is not guarunteed.

Today is Dad's birthday, we'll be going to Mom's cardiologist, having lunch then going to the mausoleum to visit Dad - he would have been 86 today.

Fife - depends upon the parent(s) Smile, Wink & Grin - prayers for Fifemom and Roy
OK, off to work - half day at least.  Check back later.........
