Yankees sharing their cold.  Highs in the 30's and wind chill in the 20's.

Bear problem at the farms.  Tow big ones and tow half grown ones.  Think they need corn from feeders.

Good evening all,

Did 7 miles in under 2 hours Sunday.  Paid some bills today.  Looked at new Lionel catalog.  Wallet is safe again.  Appears the starter sets are over 50% non railroad related.  Expanded Christmas offerings.  Weather cold.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from a Sunny and cold 25F South Jersey.

Getting run over today, as I have been BUSY since punch in at 730...approving time cards and getting cars into the system to be scanned, NOT including the techs who need help modifying and rewriting their reports.

Friday got home and relaxed a bit, tried to get to bed early, 10 ish If I remember correctly.

Saturday started with 4 fire calls, the 4th was an active fire in an apartment that was modified by some of the Spanish immigrant population, which hampered the actual firefighting activity.
So by the time we got the truck back in service it was already 330......yeah I got in to squirt some water.  Fire Department installation dinner at 6.....

I ran over to the hotel, checked it and ran back to Mom's house to check in on her and get my shower.  My suit was there so I changed and ran to my house and got Jenni.  Got in to dinner at 615PM.  Sworn in as Trustee for my 5th year.  I'll be done by 2021.  At the Hotel at 1145 PM late checkout, we had a nice breakfast and was at the house by 330PM, started laundry and fell asleep for a couple of hours, had take out chicken wings and fries.  Ran trains for a while, no pileups!!  Finished laundry and in bed by MIDNIGHT.

We got 2 inches Saturday in the afternoon, was all gone by Sunday.  Winter sucks.....

Good morning from sunny, crisp, nawth Texess! Cool

Started in the 30's but headed to 50's today! Nice!

Making progress (slow) on the 0-4-0 ERR project. Working on routing the antenna under the running boards (Using the handrails is out as handrails are soldered to the stantions) too much work to free them up and risk ruining the paint job.

Boy has this site been messed up.

Friday into Saturday morning we got 7 to 8 inches of heavy wet snow. It ruined my weekend train plans. I did get to our club meet Saturday night but was too sore this morning to attend the train show.

Evening folks!

Sunny today. 53 high. Son and I charcoal grilled some tenderloins tonight for the family dinner - um um good!

Chief - no luck at local TCA and other train meets. Not that many heavy duty train folks here. Most of us in north TX know each other. I price very very reasonable and make it clear it is negotiable. Even took stuff to York. Not even an inquiry. No longer waste the time here.

Fife - I used to have an 8x12 ft layout in the bonus room. Took it out when the kids hit Jr. High so they had a tv/game/friends hangout room. That layout is now at TW Trainworx and we expanded it to 8x20 and it it was used for big train shows until we built the Lionel style modular (much easier to transport and set up). We will sell it when ever an interested buyer inquires (we have had some but the layout did not fit the need/space) into a used layout.

55 and sunny.  Getting windy as going into the 20's tonight.  High tomorrow to be 41 and windy.  Going east.  Will be really windy as big flat fields.  Will work mainly in the woods so that will help.

Roy, I have found it better to sell locally.  Took 6 TMCC diesels to TCA meet.  $25 for table.  Sold in three hours.  No packing and shipping.  OGR is getting bad as they want you to give it away on there.

Fifey, big engine.  Heavy too.  Runs great backwards and forwards through switches with no problems.  Really good.

Enjoy the week.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 33 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Weather was just enough to keep folks home yesterday.  Nothing to plow.  I've been running around this week preparing PR stuff for the upcoming trip to the state house.  Wifey and I will put together folders this afternoon.  May spend some time in the train room.

Chief - Good looking J.  Did you know, the N&W 611 is actually 9 feet longer than the C&O 2-6-6-2 1309 (due to its tender)?

Roy - You've spent so much time constructing layouts for other entities, did you ever get around to building one at home...?

Evening folks!

Nice sunny, cool, day today. Front blew through here and temps near freezing tonight.

The big Plano train show was today (and tomorrow). Mrs gave me a hall pass and son stayed at home. Had a nice time a talked to a lot of folks I had not seen in a while. Lotta layouts. Spoke to two sellers that also buy collections. Looking into selling off some of the train tonnage this year.

Fife - yes you are correct....lol

This is why we don't go there on a regular basis, this was a one off, I wasn't interested in the diner and fast food was out.

I worked from there so I could get a cup o joe and run my meeting while CVS was doing my 'scrip and it was just right on the timing....lol!!

anjdevil - Just think, if Panera sold toy trains, you would receive half an engine, and pay 25% more for it...

Morning folks!

Heavy clouds and light rain continued overnight. More rain for today. Normal 50's day/30's-40's night predicted for next 2 weeks.

Mrs doing well. Cannot drive. I have been the chief cook, bottle washer, grocery getter, bank, post office, chores, errands, person. All good! Big train show this weekend. If my son can be here the Mrs says I might get a hall pass tomorrow!

Banks - glad the tooth issue is over!

Happy Friday and a hearty TGIF from a now cold and windy Southern New Jersey.

Doc appointment was good, worked from the doctor's office, then Panera then home.....new meds seem to be working as I slept through the night without getting up.

Blew off fire drill last night, just way too tired and Jenni came over after work, talked to Mom and then we headed to Panera for soup and sandwiches.  Was in bed by 10 and Jenni was back in Manahawkin by 1130.

Looking forward to hanging at the house tonight, getting some stuff done in the train attic tomorrow. Saturday afternoon, relocating to the Hotel after Jenni gets done at work.  Then party at the firehouse for installation dinner, dancing with the DJ and open bar.

Mom is still doing ok, she gets up in the middle of the night for a potty call and that ruins her sleep pattern, but she is doing well.

Off to work, already jumping on me...lol

Hello there,

got my tooth out yesterday. The novocaine lasted about 7 hours.

Been perusing YouTube.  SubBob I watched Petticoat Junction a lot, never saw that episode. Found this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RQTgwwXIpj0

It's a movie of a 50s 2 rail O scale layout. Found lots of other Lionel  videos there like A LIONEL CHRISTMAS . https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7S1k5bK6BBc

Best move on.

Prayers for those in need

Hi guys,
Winter is setting in, 12 degrees and only heading to mid-20s. Then snow, rain, ice and more snow. That should make for a fun day or two.
Wifey’s last PT is tomorrow and I may have to take her if the weather has already started to get bad. Otherwise she is finished with the hip replacement ordeal. Yes
I have been running trains but not much. Also, I am working on a small project to run an electrical box between the two garage doors in the shed. Don’t know why I did not do that when I built it but I will now. Bang Head It won’t be too hard because all of the electrical is in exposed hard conduit so making changes is a snap. Later today I am going to get some supplies for the project and run to the John Deere dealer and pick up the seat cover I ordered for the Gator 590i.
Prayers for those in need and on the mend. Have a good day!

Morning folks!

Hit 80'yesterday and pouring rain now as it drops into mid-40's this afternoon. Weather pundits said we would have a dry winter (nope)....

Ordered some (100 pics with dropping resistors!) warm white LEDs from Amazon and and got them the next day. How they deliver a $7 item in one day and make money baffles me. Needed this for the 0-4-0 ROW tank loco I am installing ERR mini-commander into. All I had left were the blue-white LEDs, which I used to test the circuitry. Now carefully drilling out by hand the front and rear headlight castings to accommodate the 3mm dia LEDs - originally used 1mm GOW incandescent bulbs.

This project has taken faaaaaarrrrrr longer than I anticipated....but it will be nice when done. installed the boiler/cab shell and tested on a loop of track. Runs and sounds great! May add a second magnet to the chuff cam as one chuff per rev seems a little light, but the drivers are so small that 2 chuffs per rev may be too much?
