Dennis, depends.  One in living room, on a TV thingy furniture.  Eye level.  Den, its over fireplace as center of room facing fireplace.  One bedroom, on top of dresser.  another two bedrooms, on a table.  So, that is what we do.

Hello  there
    Been a slow week.

Kinda had the blahs Monday. Didn't do much.

Tuesday started sorting and putting Christmas away. Was going to get coal but found the Tahoe battery dead as a door nail. Something seams to drain it if it sits a long period. Put the charger on it for a couple hours but still no go. Decided to let it get to 100% and left it go.

Yesterday battery 100%. It will crank, start then immediately die. Some YouTube time tells me by the dash lights the anti theft system is causing it. More time on YouTube showing half dozen ways to reset and none work. Half hour phone call to GM mechanic nephew one more way.

By this time it's time to get Mrs It waits til today. His method is a sequence of key off and on over half an hour. Working on that now and praying. This doesn't work

I'm going to find the schematic in my book and by by anti theft. It's a 20 year old Tahoe. Who'd want it?

Gotta go

Prayers for those in need

Aloha. Gee, it is sometimes hard to login here. I wish it was as warm here as it has been out East. Sleet overnight and rain this morning on my careful shuffle a quarter mile from the parking lot to the train depot. Rain atop ice is dangerous! Did the same thing Tues into Wed too. Weird weather. I've been casually browsing for late clockwork - post-war Hornby tinplate. Nothing pops up this side of the pond. Why do I always pick something obscure to run? Big Smile

Marty, my deepest condolences!
Kev, we just replaced our Crock-Pot - the old one we got when we were married 30 years ago! This one feels ... cheaper. Smile

Thanks all for the chinny comments.  My pets have always been very important to me.  That little guy was with me in my old home where the train layout was.  He endured a lot of train running in his time.

Hope everyone has a safe day.  Thoughts for those that need 'em.

Hey......

Gray and drizzle this AM at 40F.  Was supposed to get colder, now will be Saturday.  Hope to get the board over the house before then, maybe tomorrow night.

No committments this weekend, so I will dedicating this to layout building and trackage.  WIll be putting up the outlet boxes and Romex, maybe my BIL will give me ahand with the wiring.  I think I'll be staing at my house this weekend to take full advantage of the house and attic.

Drill tonight for the manditory Blood Borne Pathogens class, got through my County Meeting unscathed, lol!!

Praying for V8 and SPMan for health concerns!

Check back when I can.....

V8, hope your heart check up goes well.  I went to my G.I. doctor today and he wants to do an indoscopy next week to check a possible problem I'm having with my esophagus.

We are having real Winter temps in Southern California lately.  The outside temp this morning was 32 degrees but that won't last long.  Our local Mt. Baldy is covered with snow completely and is beautiful after all the rain we had.

Neighbor just brought me some cookies they baked.  He's a good guy and is always bringing me stuff.

My nephew from Boston arrives tomorrow for a short visit.  He's out here on business.

Went in the garage yesterday and ran some trains a little but I can't do much out there now without using my portable oxygen machine.  Just ducking under the layout a few times does me in.  Be glad when it warms up a little then I can do more out there.

Good evening all,

Soggy in Indiana but mild.  MartyE, sorry to hear about the loss of your pet.  Work was quiet today.  Walk was short as neither one of us were 100%.  One step closer to having one of the garage doors with a remote opener.   Got a new strike plate for the screen door latch and it seems to be working well.  If it holds over the weekend, we order the motor installation next week.  Got Trains today and got to see the Honda train go thru the city for the second night in a row.  Cool.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning....

MartyE - sorry about your chinchilla, my condolences, truely.

Systems here are driving me nuts, nothing at work has operated correctly since last week.....very frustrating.....

No movement on the train table, hope to get some help tomorrow night after drill, bloodborne pathogens class (should be fun!!).

Had to replace a right rear tire on the Hemi Magnum, found a puncture on the absolute outer edge of the tread, another $129 plus mount and balance gone...but it's better than changing tires at 0630 in the morning.

50ish today, nose dive to 30s later tonight, during my County Fireman's Association meeting, supposidly.

Back when I can, still fighting the system...

50 degrees out.  May go to 80 today.  Out the door to Edgecombe and farms.  Getting away as yesterday and Monday was full of meetings and working outside.

So sorry Marty.

Yesterday turned out to be a bad day.  While I know a lot of folks don't consider pets part of the family, my chinchilla of 16 years passed away yesterday morning.  He's been with me through a lot.

Looking forward to a better day today.

Hi guys, Wife got a nice little crock Pot yesterday on her shopping spree so I went to the butcher shop this morning and got a 2lb rump roast that I threw in it to check it out. Kinda nice being that small. A good size for cooing stuff for just the two of us.  Yeah

Winter is back but in the mid 20s above zero not mid 20s below zero. Smile

Well it warmed up here nicely but now the rains come.  Got the salt off the car at least.

Pulled a cat's worth of hair out of a locomotive this week plus steel wool fibers.  Yikes!

Have a great day!

Good evening from overcast 57°F Southern Ohio,

I’m on night shift this month so I was home this morning and was burning brush.  A light rain started around 6 pm on the way into work.

I spent a good bit of the weekend burning brush piles.  Beginning to make some headway so buying the chipper is off the list.  Saturday night was BEAUTIFUL!  It was cool, mid-30’s and had a fire going.  The sky was so clear and thousands of stars were visible.  Praise God!

I did get the foam board glued down over the weekend.  The roadbed was delivered Saturday and now I’m prepping track with a clean-up and installation of feeder wires.  I figure a feed every 3 feet or so should do.  Then start putting down track!!!  I need to take pictures.

Good night and may God bless you and your families

Jim

Afternoon All,

A rainy day, but still around 40.  I survived the yawn fest of the Super Bowl. Still, it was an excuse to have a few with the boys and stay away from the Mrs. I'm dying to know if she'll still be a Patriots fan after her "boyfriend" hangs it up. Big Smile

Spank - Most Moen faucets made in the last 30 years should have a lifetime warranty on those cartridges. Should take a 1225 model. Pop in to your local Home Depot and they should have some freebies for you. Cool video too!

Have a good one and prayers.

Winter is on the way back.  Was in the mid 60's yesterday and will be in the mid 20's this evening.  Dog & I took a 3 mile walk this morning while it is still above freezing.

Roy - we are in a small town here - about 20,000.  I got to the SS office right after lunch.  More people started coming in after me, so I think I beat the 'rush'.

We had the game on last night as background noise.  DVR'd it so we can go back and watch the commercials.  Those didn't seem to be as interesting as in years past.

Spent most of the day with the robotics team Saturday.  The design is pretty much finalized, components are being fabricated, and the prototype robot is starting to take shape.  It should be running this week sometime.  As usual, during the initial assembly, we are discovering some bugs that will need to be corrected.  Packaging is tight this year.  It is going to be a pain to work on in the pits between rounds of competition.

About all for now.

Obviously, Kevin you don't remember the Chief calling the police to have me locked up in Roseyville, NC several years ago. Happy Monday......

Took almost 2 hours to get home on Friday - 4" of panic driven snow here in the south.  Almost got home and there was just a dusting.  And everyone panicked.  ugh......

Saturday I got the train attic cleaned and got the legs drilled and adjusters installed.  Still no help getting the table upstairs.  Thursday I should be at drill, maybe get help then.  Laundry is done, short visit from my brother and SIL from Washington, DC.  Ran to North Jersey, did go see GLASS (Unbreakable, Split and now Glass), was a decent movie, give it a thumbs up, so it's worth the ticket.

Sunday tried to sleep late, spent 3.5 hours getting some food staples (mistake: idiots buying for SB Sunday), going to Michael's (the Christmas stuff is gone... :( )then an hour getting the car washed.  The RED Magnum was so WHITE I couldn't see out the windows, yes it was that bad.   I cooked waffles and bacon during the "BIG GAME", watched none of it.  It hit 50 today, a 48F jump from Thursday....
Tried to go to bed early, wound up going at 10.  Up at 5 to deliver the GF's car to the dealer I work for, the car has squeaks and front end noises.  A '17 Civic 5400 miles and she's not happy.

Another system upgrade at work and more non-working systems.  I wish they would beta test this crap before making me struggle on a Monday.....especially Monday.....wtf???

Roy - nice picture on the Instagram.....gave you a shout out, TrainDame gave me a thumbs up...lol!!

Spank - Priority send to you on Saturday!! (Sorry for the delay) - Nice layout!!

Rob - Keeping the NEW ZW for the trains - I don't need to replace boards.  Trying to figure out how to mount everything out of the way.  I'm starting to like the "drawer" concept.  Pull the ZW's out of the drawer, mounting the bricks off to the side and the the Legacy Base off to the other.  Obviously, the Legacy needs to be "visible".

More warm up until Wednesday, Thursday more "seasonable" - 30s.

Yes, it took a while to type this, so if I missed anything, I'll catch up later.  I did find a work around to the system being down, so I am actually working "incognito" while the engineers in Plano get their, um, "stuff" together....

Slushy and Mushy Monday

48 Heading to 50 then dropping from noon on and back to winter weather. Should firm up the wet mess.

Took a second look at the Ranger yesterday and still can't figure where that noise is coming from so I will just run it for now. It is bound to get worse! Smile, Wink & Grin

Morning All!,

Should get up to 40 today. I'm breaking out the shorts!! Laugh

Usual Sunday grind - hockey, repent my sins and groceries. Still trying to hammer out Super Bowl details with the boys. All I know is I won't be home to listen to the GLOAT!

RT - Happy belated Birthday!

Rich - That's a good chunk of power for your layout. Can't go wrong with the "Hemi" of transformers x2. Big Smile

Banks - Are you going to watch The Pacific now? For my two cents, it wasn't as good as B of B, but worth watching at least once.

Have a good one and prayers (and Go Rams!!! Laugh )

Rob

.

Rob I forgot about Pacific until I started researching B of B online.  I'm going to try to buy it and the book for cheap and watch it. Might take a while though. I've had BofB for a few years waiting to have time to watch it.

Well the super bowl is history and New England won.  It was a hard fought battle that could have gone either way but boring to watch.  I missed the half time show but saw some of it on my DVR.  Did not have a clue who or what that was.  We lost TV reception for the last minute of the game but it had already been decided so it didn't matter.  The monsoon rains are still with us but we need it.  What we don't need is mudslides and flooding but here you can't have one without the other.  My new heating and air are working fine.  Glad they got it in before the rains came.  Have a good upcoming week.

Hello  there
Clan   had a fun day yesterday sledding and snowmobiling. More trips can be made when you don't have to walk back up. Made a couple of trips down myself. Temp was near 40. Got to 52 today with lots of sun. Most of the snow is gone

Took down the tree today All the extra heat run time did it in. It dried up seemingly overnight.  Now to get it all packed up and put away.

Can't believe all the hype about a football game.  Worse than Snowmageddon.

Off to bed soon

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Got the run in today.  Using a combination of outdoor and indoor facilities, did 8 miles comfortably in 2:06:48 for a 15:51 pace at a 3.785 MPH average.  Good sunny day at 60 degrees and a light wind made for a good practice.  Watched a good football match as Man City beat Arsenal 3-1.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
