Fife - Actually, at this point, it'll ALL be modules......Bang Head

It's the legnth that's the problem and I can't get around the corners to go up stairs and it's totally maddening.  I'm not that good with wood, cars I can handle, this wood thing makes me nuts.....

I have the 1X3's upstairs and everything is ready to go, just need that table up there.  ONCE the table shows up, I'll get the foam, but not before.  It is a little tight up there, but I just want the room to work.  Maybe Sunday I can get this part completed.  Friday night and most of Saturday is Incident Command 200, and I need to take this.  Meeting tonight and Thursday, and since my other Trustee is on a short vacation, I have to take the lead for the bills and reports for this month's meetings.  So it'll be a long week...lol.

Just got an e-mail we are on manditory 9 hour work days, however, I've been doing 9.5 to 10 5 days a week for a couple of months.  Looks like I'll be coming in earlier to make them happy, or happier...

Raining and I will guaruntee it will freeze tonight, making for a hockey rink tomorrow morning.

Gotta get back, more work awaits!!

As I figured would happen today,,,,,,,,,we have been on gen-set power for over 2 hours now. Took a drive and one of the main feeders about 1,2 miles to the west has both lines across the road. It sucks out there wind, snow and cold. There were three trucks sitting there but no one out of a truck. Must be waiting for the line to be cut so they can do the splice.

Working from the lap-top. Have not been on it for over a month.

Rich, I am with you on wood verses cars. Laugh

Good evening all,

Seems like all our software is held together with bailing wire, duct tape and twine.  Touch one piece and something gets fouled up elsewhere.   No cases for 4 days and over 10 in one day.  Go figure.  Radar at noon shows no precipitation for miles and we go outside for a nice outdoor walk and it is drizzling.  Does anything work anymore anywhere?  At least had a nice meal tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning all

Nothing to report.  Hope everyone is doing well.  Been cleaning up the room where the Chinchilla was so I can store some trains in there.  Rather have the little guy back.

Kev - I can build cars, wood.....yeah, ok, we're on the same page....Laugh

MartyE - Yeah, I understand that.  My companion, Smurf the Cat, is older and a supervisor.  He's always checking my work, or sleeping......big furry ball of mush he is.

Suns out, but very windy, snow and slush is melting and talking about 60 on Friday, and that's fine.

Not much else, Meeting last night was quick and done by 8 and I fell asleep on the couch by 10.

Monthly meeting tomorrow night.  Hope that is just as fast.

Afternoon All,

A quick pass through. Another blah day here. Been following the NKP 757 Berkshire journey from Strasburg PA to Bellevue OH.

Marty- Belated condolences with your dog. :(

Rich - I had the same problem when I was living in a townhouse years ago. My 4x8 plywood quickly became a 4x6 in order to fit down the basement stairs.

Brent - Hopefully your builder will be accomodating. I think sometimes they forget who is working for who!

Have a good one and prayers.

Rob

Good Evening from a windy 30°F Southern Ohio,

Remember it is Valentines Day! Gift

The Marx set was delivered Monday and needed a few repairs.  Repairs done and it runs nice.

I’m still cleaning track for the layout.  I should be placing it down by the weekend.  The rainy weather does provide reason to work on trains instead of doing outside work.

Kev - Gotta love having the genset when you need them

Rich - We are about at the same point with our layouts!  Fortunately my sheet material is already in place.

Brent - May your build go well.  I believe when respectable contractors see a client is attentive and knowledgeable of what is going on the quality of work improves, especially with progress photos.

May God bless you and your families

Jim

Raining, hard at times, rain is news here. Thur. 61 Fri. 60

At noon I'm going to a Valentines luncheon at a senors group at church.

I've been working on a crash barrier at each end of my slot car track, when thats done it is completed.

After that I'll continue with my layout, I have to admit I've been working on it so long I've kind of lost entheausim.

Happy VD to all my close friends......(HEY VALENTINE'S DAY....sick people....lol)

Got off on time yesterday, the queue was lighter than it has been.  Ran to Princeton to pick up the Princess and then back to Mom and Dad's, didn't get there until after 7.
Made a retreat to the bed by 845 - woke up about 230 and had some back aches and thought of you, Brutus.  By 0300, ran downstairs for some Advil and a heating pad, and slept through until the alarm at 0545.

Already have sent the Queen of the North her required flowers, she is NOT happy as I have class this weekend and a meeting tonight.  Such is the life of a firefighter........ ;)  The kids are running up to the Poconos for the weekend, so Mom will feed Smurf the Cat as I'll be late tomorrow and I will keep him company the rest of the weekend.  I will be cutting the train board at some point this weekend and I can guarantee the table will be up and assembled!!  A trip to the HD Saturday after class is over for a short piece of plywood and a 2X4 and I should good to go.

Fife - Outstanding!!

Phish and Rob - I'm hoping this is the last time I have to whip out the circular saw....I really want to start getting the track down....Gotta love those 100+ year old houses...Bang Head

Steady today, hope to get out on time....in the 40s now with SUN.

Back soon!

Good afternoon,

Temps got above freezing last night and between 2:00 and 3:00am I could not sleep from all of the ice crashing on to the house from the big Oak in the back.

So I took wife to Sandi's Bar and Grill for lunch then we got some stuff for when the kids are here Sunday and Monday. Melting nice now but will get back down to 14 tonight and stay below freezing for the next week.

Best Get.

As V8 said, rain is big news here.  It rained all night and all morning today.  Had to pump a lot of water out of my pool acount no drain.  Had to go in for an Indoscopy today also in the rain.  Results were good.  No problems found.  I owe a friend a free dinner for taking me there and picking me up later in the rain.

Also got some good news on one of my meds.  It is an expensive drug and they finally got a generic for it which was way less money.

I have been using more oxygen lately.  Used to not need it in the day time but now I do sometimes.  I have a portable oxygen concentrator so I will be able to use that if I need it.  I have a big one for the house which I use for sleeping.

Evening folks,

Been really busy so no time to post. Had a nice weather respite today with about 70. Another front tomorrow night and cold again next week.

Wife and I were going to go an Italian place for dinner tonight but the weather was so nice I went and picked up some steaks and we sat on the porch and grilled. All was good! Cards exchanged!

Hope all are well!

Ray, Dennis, maybe the reservoirs will fill back up?

Regards, Roy

Good Evening, (Good Morning??) from a windy 54°F Southern Ohio,

I am going to show my three rail ignorance.  I’m looking at some lionel track repair pliers, and the choice is between 027 and O gauge.  How do I tell which one I have?

May God bless you and your families

Roy, I think I heard that the reservoirs are full again.  Good news for the coming summer.  I think our rainfall is back to normal so far.  It has been a wet February.  They say another cold front is moving in behind this rain.  Cold for here is anything below 40.

Morning all.

Slowly but surely I'm starting to pull out my tin-plate trains ( 810/2810 - 820/2820 ) and going thru them deciding what I'm going to keep and what will slowly but surely go up on the auction block as I have way to many of them. I might even see if theres any bite on them at a yard sale I'm planning for April. Who knows, I do have to many thou.

Otherwise not much going on here. Hope all have a good day

I think its Friday, but I'm not sure. Confused

Rich..... Can you cut the plywood in half and then splice together with a scrap piece of plywood or 1x2, glue and screws. I do it all the time with 1x6 L girders.

Howdy all!

Very quick check in.

So we have no heat today at work, apparently the blower fan got a loose blade which proceeded to shred a whole bunch of stuff. No biggie, as it was nearly 60° outside today.

Have a good one!

Hello  there,
Mrs had a delay on Wednesday. I did some house stuff the rest of the day.

Yesterday skin doc took some spots off my cheek. Later Mrs and I had a nice Surf & Turf at a local Pub for Valentines Day. New York strip with Scallops for me, New York strip with Shrimp for Mrs. Chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

Tonight we're watching the littlest granddaughters while their folks do Valentines and sons birthday today.

Phish.....hope that video helped.

Best see what the girls are into.

Prayers for those in need.

Good evening all,

No footie, Chief this weekend.  Quiet day at work.  Did get some things done.  Traffic was ok.  Weather is cold here.  Hoping to get 10 miles done this weekend.  Wife and I watched Blue Bloods.  It was good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Went to Friday breakfast with my train buddies today.  That was the high point of the day.  Made spaghetti for dinner and have a lot left over.  Not much on TV tonight and it is supposed to rain again tonight.  Been looking at pics of trains over Donner Pass in the snow.  Looks like they are keeping up with it so far.  Just using flangers for now.  They only call out the rotaries as a last resort.  They use spreaders and bulldozers first.
