Don
8N and Roy,
The straightened out bumper has it working just fine but I was looking around before the crash.
Just kicking tires at this point,,,, Bigger, faster and newer. Do I want it????? Yes,,,, Do I need It??? NO!!!! .. LOL Will keep the old one for the wife and the grand kids to trash,,,LOL Would like a windshield, 50 mph and 4x4 but the CX has done well for the amount of land we have. Got to wait for the market to figure out that this nutty stuff will pass...
Was a lot of fun doing the trick or treat thing tonight. Boy some people go all out.

Evening all!
Rained all day so far, temps dropping.
Fife, yeah, I Thought the same thing and agree that 'ranch house' will make a nice little factory!
8n - ah, selecting trains for shows always fun!
RT - agree those will look nice with the tinplate. Me, I got no more room!
Chief - hope I make it to 10?
Kev - thought you were good with the straightened out bumper on your existing machine? Got the itch for a new machine? Have fun T or T'ing! Watch out for the hob goblins!
Been busy this morning repairing my a/c evaporator condensate line that clogged up. Also realized the contractors that replaced all my soffits a few years ago with hardieboard covered up the secondary condensate pan overflow, so water was running out of my soffit. Had to make a plug for the line so I could use my mini-air compressor to blow the primary line out (that couples into a bathroom sink vent pipe). Think I cleared it.
Made some off-the-ground racks for some firewood. Gotta get my order in for the season.
Regards, Roy
KRM - Cub Cadet was purchased quite some time ago by MTD. At least for lawn tractors, the current Cub Cadet products are not as 'industrial' as the Cub Cadet products built in the 60's and early 70's.
I'm setting up a couple of layouts for the local train show/swap meet on Saturday. Going to spend this evening and tomorrow choosing trains, cleaning track and wheels. Set up is Friday afternoon. I'm planning on running my new NYC Hudson LioneChief locomotive part of the time. Thinking about putting together some sort of military themed train, since we are close to Veteran's Day.
About all for now.
fifedog Roy - Yep, those are the ones. I bought the "Ranch House", which looks nothing like any ranch house I've ever seen. They all have cut out holes in the base big enough for C7 lights.

Fife to me it looks like a grainery or something
Any way I bought it also and I bought the general store and the red farm house.
I think they will look great with my prewar tinplate trains.

Good morning,
Trick or treating tonight with the grand kids in Morris. Yesterday it was 73 today they say 60, could be worse.
Went and checked out and drove a Gator XUV 560 yesterday. So, So. I drove a 590M up in Wi. on our trip with power steering and that was sweet but starting at 14K,,no way! They sure are proud of that green paint!! Lost enough money in the 401K last week I could of paid cash for one. Going to look at the Cub Cadets next. Seems you get a lot more for the money with the Cubs.
Not much else around here. Leaves are about 60% gone but the colors are at peak right now. Red oaks, pin oaks, Maples, shagbark Hickory all look nice.
Morning. Sunny and warm. Tonight is new POT. Anyone here is welcome to start it off.
Have a good one.

Earthling sample Sturgeon Phish: It was a cosmic blast having you as our guest. You have taught us much about American Flyer trains. The results of your "probe" should be in Friday.
Nano-nano,
Nice morning when dog and I went for a 3 mile walk. Clouds were moving in by the time we got home. Went downhill from there. Drizzle in the afternoon and falling temperatures. The trees sure look nice now, though.
88 - Your story sounds like the time my friends and I replaced the concrete front walk up to the house. After the cement truck left and we were troweling and finishing the edges and expansion joints, I got two inqueries about doing other concrete jobs in the neighborhood. I told them that I owned the house and that they would not be able to afford me if I did accept their job.
All for now.
Good evening all,
Busy day at work. Even busier at home. Got train stuff home from historical society. Spent hour on phone with phone company on their bill. Plumbing is done at home. Last bit of work we hopefully ever have to do on the place. Wife had tooth pulled. She is doing well with it so far. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good Evening from sunny 71°F Southern Ohio,
I was not abducted by aliens, just been super busy at work and at home.
Our youngest daughter is in town from Hollywood, the one we’ll go out a visit, for a few days. She made a fantastic supper last night, grilled salmon, asparagus and some kind of fancy potato dish, all washed down with an ice cold Sam Adams. Tonight is going to be Turkey Pot Pie.
I’ve not had any time to work on the layout, but maybe in a week or two some time will free up. At least not quite so much time cutting grass.
I’m at work and need to go, the guys are calling.
May God bless
Jim
Morning 'potters!
Cloudy and high 70's today. Rain still on tap for All Hallows Eve....Boo!
Fife & RT - looks like those buildings are carried by Michaels...
https://www.michaelskids.com/galvanized-metal-tabletop-gristmill-by-ashland/10559523.html
This is one building but scroll down and you will see a selection. Pretty cool and look like a good size.
Been working on cleaning up the office and work areas again. Stuff really piled up with York prep and then being gone for a week and a half.
Waiting on HVAC guys. they came yesterday to do the fall furnace checks/tests and now the AC is not functioning on one of the units - argh...likely left a connection loose after doing the furnace over temp tests.
Morning all
Fife is there like a web address to that company or is not in business any more? I could find pics of some of the buildings but that was it.
Not much going on here. 49* going to 68* today. nice weather.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 42 in the Potomac Highlands. Headed down the yard in a bit for today's train. Wifey came home last night, after a week watching the grandsons back in Crabtown. Oldest Princess dropped her off to me in Fredrick. While I was there, I ventured into Michael's, and discovered some nice tinplate table top structures from ASHLAND. I bought a nicely proportioned factory building (MSRP $70), that has great "bones" and really lends itself well for painting and superdetailing. I shall use it as my Bolt & Forge shop. Other buildings in this series are a farm house and barn.
Rob - Horrible reading about this loss.
Hello there,
Prayers for those affected by the craziness in Pittsburgh. ...
ROB great news about your sister. Another rainy day here. Mass, a dentist appointment and dealing with some Mom issues was my day.
Son picked his corn on the couple of days it didn't rain last week. Got 7.5 ton off about 2..5 acres. A bumper crop. Hasn't decided what to do with it yet. Probably have the mill bag it and sell it for deer corn. Now debating on combining soybean. Probably not enough there to cover the cost of fuel.
Best get to sleep Prayers for those in need.
Kev if you have 5+ acres on water front you could put a outhouse with a leanto on it and get that price. That price is more for the land that the building.
Very quiet day at work. Better weather for walk. Plumber showed up to do work on back bathroom. When that work is done, should not have to have anything done on the house before we expire. Then it will be kids' problem LOL. I hope everyone has a good day.
Roy, I saw that but it don't figure? Maybe it is .522 AC?? there is nothing there as far as land that we saw nad nothing that touches the lake???
Rob - glad to hear the news about your sister. Again condolences on the tragic loss of your BIL
Kev - guess thats the price for 5 acres?
Afternoon All
Thanks so much to everyone for the kind words. My sister texted me and said the hospital is satisfied enough with her progress to let her out. Still a long road of physio ahead though.
Much nicer out today. Of course it would be since it's Monday!
Brent - I hear ya. I hate to sound like an old man, but "the kids these days....." Like most of you, I hung around with dad on the weekends and watched, helped and learned. Even though my son is going through to be an electrician, I don't think he would be able to do much else around the house without YouTube (or asking me.) It's too bad. I don't think either of my daughters are exactly going to be "Suzy Homemaker" either. I know it's not the 50's, but these kids need basic life skills.
Roy - Great race at Martinsville. Love that track!
Rich - Nice to hear you have layout control issues worked out.
Kev- Glad you enjoyed the trip.
Have a good one and prayers (especially with Pittsburgh).
Rob
Good Morning!
Rob - Condolences, that's horrible. Prayers for your family at this time.
Roy - Happy Birthday to your son!!
88 - I understand, that's crazy. My daughter and her BF are pretty good at home repairs and such. THe Princess can work on the car in a pinch, both are self reliant, thank goodness. Both are 26.....
I'm reveling in the fact I FINALLY figured out (with a lot of help) how to get my Legacy to work with my ZW-C. I can FINALLY control everything with 1 remote, 2 loops and everything works. Just need to reprogram my 746 J Class Celebration Series and I'll be set. Had no trouble setting up my C & O 2743 Berk. All this is setting up for my layout. Looking like 13 November I'll call my guy and get the remants of his layout and bring it home. Just have to remember to bring my Ryobi saw. The Magnum should gobble up most of the lumber.
Check back when I can.
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Morning. Had early specialist appointment. Sunny and warm.
Brent, taught Frankie how to wire, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and do most anything. Made him help me as a kid. Now he does it all.
Fred has Diverticulitis. Can't hunt. Wifey and Dr. doe not want me hunting down east in big woods by myself. May not get to hunt this week. We'll see.
Hi guys,
WOW Rob, sorry about your BIL, that is sad.
Looks like all are faring well otherwise.
We just got back from our anniversary trip to the north woods yesterday afternoon. I am very happy with the trucks first trip. We did 1,041.3 miles on the trip with an average MPG of 23.4 mpg for the whole trip and the last 450 miles home it was 23.7 mpg. For the life of the truck it has been 21.7 now at 8,400 some miles. Most interstate driving was 77 to 78 mph. A lot of riding in the woods to see the colors when we were in the Minocqua area.
Here is a cabin we stayed at when I was 8 to 13 years old on Lost lake we stopped at when we were on our trip. We went every year for many years the last two weeks of July with grand-pa and grand-ma McCulley our step grand-parents. Sandra and I talked to an old guy 77 who remembers it all as I did and has one of the old cabins. Here is one we were in back 54 years ago. They are NUTS on the price for it. The thing needs to be replaced for it looks as nothing has been done to it since we were there way back then.

Aloha. I've been locked out here for some reason, then all of a sudden, I can get back in... Rob, my deepest condolences on your loss and prayers for your sister. What a tragedy! It's sunny and cool - nice fall-like weather. I fought off some bug on Saturday but was well enough to help at an illusionists show our church put on for the community last night - it was awesome. I love to be fooled by a talented magician. All the Christmas stuff is out at our local Menards - and the trains are highlighted - they sure have some nice things.Brent, I agree with you about our neighborhood 'youngsters' who bought their first house. I didn't have a dad who taught me much but I asked around, watched videos, hung out with some of the neighborhood guys who did know how to do things and let me watch 'em. Heck, I even ask you guys! And now I am trying to 'pay it foward' since I am apparently the only guy on the block who owns any tools!

Morning folks!
Overcast and to hit 82 today. Rain/cold front Wednesday.
88 - well, he did acknowledge he wished he had learned. I agree, a couple of my new 'millennial' neighbors just let the house/yard go.
Had a nice day yesterday. Son asked for pitza and pineapple upside-down cake.
Old style end to the NASCAR race. Logano pushed/banged Truex out of the way across the finish line.
Mornin' FellasRob - condolences on your BiL and sister. That guy has a real drinking problem, no one did anything to straighten him up, now he's killed someone (hopefully not 2) and probably severely injured someone for the rest of their life (not to mention the emotional loss and stress), and will most likely spend the rest of his life behind bars... tradgic on so many levels!DonB - Yep, you should see the ads here and the hear the retoric all over the radio and news. Really sad what this country has devolved into.Dealing with house stuff for one house is tough... I've got 3 going on now... I know it is all temporary, just tough with one being 4+ hours away and still needing some work. Weekend are tough to get up there and now that it is Fall it is even tougher with the days getting shorter. I now need to remove the old garden fence in the backyard and trim back the neighbor's tree that has overgrown on to my property... and no he is not responsible for it because it is on my property now. No way it would have ever gotten to this point if the older Italian families still lived in the houses... younger people just don't seem to care as long as they have a roof over their heads so they can play their video games and drink beer. You can't help people who all they want are handouts and free stuff.I was talking with one of the young men last Wednesday when I was up on a 26ft ladder painting the sides of the back porch roof.Guy - "Hey that looks really nice now."Me - "Thanks."Guy - "How much do you charge?"Me - "I own the house. I don't do this for a living."Guy - "WOW! Why didn't you hire someone?"Me - "Painters want $85+ an hour, plus materials. I paid $43 for the paint, $20 for the brush, and rented the ladder for $30 for the day. If I lived closer I wouldn't have had to rent the ladder, nor buy a new brush. I got all of this painted, and the step powerwashed in 3 hours. A painter or handyman would have taken all day."Guy - "Oh... wish I knew how to do all that."Me - "Watch and learn. I don't mind an audience, just don't get in the way. It is all about not loading the brush with too much paint, and don't make jerky movements causing the paint to splatter. A smooth steady hand, and you don't need painter's tape either. There are classes on how to do home improvements at HD, L's and even at local community colleges. A couple hours here and there to learn how to do this can save you huge amounts of $$$ over the life of your home, and doing minor improvements and maintenance here and there will extend the life of your house as well."Guy - "I wish you lived closer! How did you learn?"Me - "Watching home improvement shows (not HGTv), watching my Dad, helping friends, watching professionals, etc"Guy - "Thanks. Wish my Dad had taught me to do that stuff."Sad, very, very, sad.
