Morning folks!

Well we have broken the record for annual rainfall and over 2 months left this year. 40" so far and another 3-5 " predicted through Tues night...Umbrella

60 right now and high in the 40's for Mon and Tues...

8n - I did the same thing with my drug plan - Walgreens - nationwide - has worked well so far. Glad they got that straightened out!

Banks - good luck with the caliper/brake repairs!

Kev - "keeping him at a low pace" - I like that! Thumbs Up

I feel so popular! I am gettingcalls from senators, congressmen, Russians, and even one this week from a person in China (I think?) Smile, Wink & Grin

Talladega today!

NICE BUCK, Chief!!!

Finished off filling the wood shed. Picked 3 nice 8' stumps of ash from Jim's place to finish it off. That will cover this year and next. The dead ash gives off the least heat but will be the first wood burnt next year so it will work out good. By the time it gets real cold I should be into the Oak. Time for a nap!!!  Sleep

Santa Ana winds are howling today and all night last evening.  Pool is full of leaves and wind damaged an umbrella I forgot to lower.  Strong gust at times.  No shingles lost so far.  I celebrated my 82nd birthday this weekend.  Kids took me out to dinner two days in a row.  One gift I got was a plaque showing every type of Atlantic Coast Line EMD locomotive in the silver and purple livery. (My favorite)

Have a good week,

Happy Birthday, Ray!!

Chief - Get there earlier....lol!!  There was a doe and 2 fawns in my backyard on Friday.  We have deer living behind the house and they are all over.  We also have raccoon, opossum, squirrels, birds, vultures are a regular, and fox.  Where we live is not rural by any stretch, but we do still have farms and woods close by.

Saturday was a small inventory taking day in the train attic.....I found that I have maybe 100 boxcars in and out of boxes, scale and O-27, tank cars about 25-30 the bulk of which are Sunoco tankers, about 100 assorted flat cars, gondolas and hoppers, about 50 engines ( I did run a 8606 NYC that hadn't been run in 15 years, lubed it up and smokes like a champ, runs great, an MTH NYC 0-6-0 smokes and runs and the 2055 RT sold me).  Found another 9000 series car, so now I have 6.  About 70 caboose, again postwar, MPC and modern, boxed and unboxed.  And then I found another box of assorted rolling stock.......at that point I called it a night.  I'm positive there is more, I still have 3 more sets (1 is an MTH with LocoSound) which need to over to the front of the attic with the other 4 sets (2 Polar Express, Fire Rescue from 2002, NJT set with add on car, Western Maryland GP38 set, MTH and a Winter Wonderland set).  I left my Temple Observation car at Mom's house, totally forgot it, I'll stop by on Wednesday.  There is no accessory shortage, I have houses, farms and barns, log loader, bascule bridge, sawmill and a huge assortment of Dept. 56.

I probably have more than enough to do a 50 X 50 layout.....

Crazy afternoon already, systems failures and all that.  But 10 scans so far....

Back later!

Hello there,

Ray.........HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today was one of the days when the weather was all over the place. Grass needs cut but it's just to soggy. Thankfully the weather has cooled enough it's not growing much .

Found an adapter and finished the brake project yesterday. Today I did a quick check of everything else. Found the air filter box plum full of grass.  Mice must've been looking for higher ground.

Got the camper out of the carport, it has a green tint to it from all the rain. Going to wash it tomorrow and take care of some odds and ends that need attention. The game plan is to pick Mrs up after work Wednesday and head for York.

Roy.......I'll look you up 1st thing when I get there Thursday. Have you heard from John F or Buckeye???

Best try to sleep.

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 46 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Had to stop by the yard, on my only day off, to fix the audio system on the train.  Lucky we had a spare wire burried in the store room.

SPMan celebrating 82. YesYes  Youngest Princess celebrating 18.  Took her and her boyfriend, along with the newlyweds, to Patrick's for Wings & Yings, then we all carved pumpkins in our dining room (her idea).  She adores Halloween. Even had a pumpkin icecream cake.

V8Vega - Follow you heart...  Doesn't seem you have any love for CA anyways.

Anjdevil - Can't wait to see the finished product.

Chief - You can walk across the deer here.  WV reintroduced elk recently.

Will miss you guys headed to YORK.  Have always wanted to meet Northwoods Flyer.

Afternoon Fellas

Missing York this Friday just doesn't seem natural, but has to be done. We decided not to pull the trigger on building a home with the first builder, met with a realtor who took us to builder #2... had potential till we started digging into the details and found they may not even build the house we wanted... found builder #3 on Sunday and went to visit without TheVPQ as she was on her way to Greensboro for another site visit. Anyhoo... this builder's homes are very impressive and within our range, so meeting tomorrow to review the details. Keeping fingers crossed because this puts us into an awesome school district, more upscale area, and cuts TheVPQ's commute down to 30 - 40 minutes!

The house is Pittsburgh continues to get online views, but no showing requests... keeping fingers crossed! Heading up next Wednesday to put the finishing touches on a couple items... hope they make the difference.

Kev - Nice wood shed! I may need to build one of those at the next house. Surprise

Banks - that Tahoe project sounds like a number of my projects! Bang Head

Fife - Need to get out your way for a visit!

Roy & other Yorkies - safe travels!

Good morning from a cold North Bluff!

32 and HEAVY frost out there, heading to 60 later. Sun and a wild turkey is eating under the bird feeder. Wife is asleep.

A trip to Menards this morning. Had a attack of GERD last night and could not eat without trowing up,,,WTH? I am hungry. I had that about 15 to 20 years ago and it seems to be coming back. Guess I will need to get back on the Omeprazole every day for awhile. I have noticed I have been having a hard time swallowing for a few months now but last night was the worst attack I have had. Most time it is bread or potatoes that do it. Ick!

Safe travels to the York folks!

Brent, The wood shed roof is 20' x 10', between the post is 8' x 16'. With the splitter sitting on 4' of one end and the west end outside the post filled it holds about 3.25 to 3.5 full cords of wood. Keeps the wood very nice.

Afternoon Fellas

Kev - that is a nice wood shed! Met with the builder last night and the fireplace I wanted can not be installed in the house. They do a blower test to analyze the house's heating and cooling efficiency and since the fireplace is only 77% efficient they won't clear it for install. Disappointing, but it does save us some $$$... but no wood burning. Sad

The build looks like a go... still a few items to iron out and then sign the build contract... hopefully on Saturday.

Hello there,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Roy

was at York from noon til 430. Spent some time chewing the fat with Roy. He was the only one I found. Hopefully find more at the CTT booth tomorrow at 1.

Walked Silver, Blue and half of Orange halls. Saw lots of Gilbert HO but nothing I don't have or was willing to pay the price. I did get a Lionel 654 Sunoco tank car and a vintage print of a K4 to add to my Christmas /Train cave. Both for less than  $20.

This evening Mrs and I had steak, onions and baked taters at the campground.

88......seems to me another example of government sticking their nose where it doesn't belong.

Ready to crash.

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' Fellas

Not real bugged about the fireplace... there are other areas where the $$$ can be better spent on the new house. If we really want to burn logs, I can have a wood burning stove put in the basement later on.

Going to miss York today. Sad Definitely will need to go in April to get my 'fix'. Lots going on this weekend. Hope it all works out.

I get to coach my first soccer game tomorrow... that is sure to end in disaster! LOL!

Happy B-Day Roy! CakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCake

Morning all,

Hapy Birthday Roy.

Not a lot going on here today. We got our pre- pre-approval to but another house. They want to have it where I can go in as a cash offer basically. Basically I'll be going in already completely approved for the house. The house is 1275 sqft but the garage isn't heated but easily can be done, so that will take the house up to 1700 sqft. I'll probably close the garage off and it will become my train room. The garage was added on to the house, I can see where the windows use to be from the garage side so may take on of those and cut thru into the house and make it a door. (its in one of the bedrooms ( the smallest bedroom. ) so I have access from the house. The garage is 17' x 25' so if I make it 12' x 25' layaout, that will give me room to have a small work shop and walking area on one side of the layout. the garage door and a access door are on the 17' wide area.

Otherwise no real news. This all came about, because with some searching for services for my wife should something prevent me from performing them, and discovered the county I live in doesn't have the funds to suport such services. So we don't have it.

Happy Birthday Roy!!!   Cake Beer

Brent that is just stupid that they can tell you that you can't have a fireplace but to tell the truth if I could do it over I would not have a fireplace and would of gone with a wood burning stove where the fireplace is with glass doors. The fireplace just sucks up wood and don't give much in return for all the work.

Good luck on the move RT!

Spent best part of 4 hours on the phone and on-line trying to change one dental INS policy for next year. Angry

Kev - they aren't saying we 'can't' have it, they are saying it won't pass the blower test. I was looking at the QuadraFire 7100, think fireplace insert on steriods! Once TheVPQ and I talked about it we found the gas fireplace they install by default won't be so bad... we won't have to buy and store wood, won't need the fireplace tools and other items... just declutters the room. I can also, much more safely, hang the TV above the fireplace giving the room a single focal point. The cost savings on the fireplace will also allow us to have the built-in cabinets and shelves installed next to both sides of the fireplace... win-win!

Good luck to RT!
