Good Evening from overcast 40°F Southern Ohio,

We woke to a dusting of snow again this morning.  It didn’t stay long but it never got much above mid 40’s today.  I replaced the overhead fixture in the soon to be train room.  It has a wall paper wainscot so that is going to come off then paint the room.  I’m thinking a sky blue like I had in the former train room.  I’ve not decided if I’ll paint the mural again or not.

I did get a new push mower to replace the one I broke last fall.  Same type as before but I don’t plan to do as much bush whacking this year.

It was a super busy weekend as usual.  I did get more brush burned Friday then I had a wedding on Saturday and the Bishop was in town Sunday for the confirmation class then the Divine Mercy Sunday service was a couple of hours later Sunday.  A busy but really good weekend.  I slept in a bit this morning because I’m working nights again.  Did a little grass cutting and moved the fire ring to another brush pile.

Good Night and may God bless

 Jim

Good evening all,

Did go to work.  Took the Encore in case the roads were slick.  All was good.  Quiet day at work.  Cold weather for walk.  Watched Izombie.  Episode started off kind of weird, but then made sense.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening,

WOW!   96 here today!!!!

FIL still in hospital, they are trying to get his BP up, and get the chemical balance correct without affecting the heart and pacemaker.  In the meantime MIL is getting iron transfusions 3 times a week.  She has been retaining water, did loose 13 lbs over the weekend due to medication.  She is only getting around with the aid of a wheelchair or rollator.  Kay is bouncing back and forth between the two of them monitoring her Mom, and passing information back and forth.

I've been killing time in the train room.  Got all my crossing signals and some dwarf signals up and operational.  Was thinking about Roy and his project, mine is nothing in comparison but had me rattled.  I have 5 parallel tracks that wanted two crossing signals to operate from.  And individual dwarf signals (5) when the tracks were occupied.  The trick was with isolated tracks that the ground for the xing signals would trigger the dwarf lights.  Even tried some diodes to eliminate current flow, but that didn't work.  Ended up "isolating" the "isolated" tracks.  Can't imagine what Ro is going thru with all the permeations.

Tomorrow going to be installing some traffic lights, (8).  Think that will go pretty easy.

Need to get it all ready for Buckeye's visit.

Everything is going well, take care all and stay healthy !!!

Evenin' boys.  Sunny & 51 in the Potomac Highlands.  Honey-do kinda Tuesday.  Hauled palm tree from ground floor to front porch.  Cleaned the Maxi-piles from yard.  Hauled out old Whirlpool dryer, to make room for new Maytag dryer, which showed up late (shocker there...).  Pulled weeds from the planter out front (future site of a garden railroad...).  Re-hung bear crossing sign on shed.  Went to replace burnt out flood light, which wasn't burnt out...  Fixed neighbor's post lamp (it was bothering me all lop-sided like that).  Went to post office, then to grocery store, then drove youngest princess to her boyfriend's house, where she is having dinner with his family (NO, none of us are ready for this....).

I've earned that Beer.

Getting caught up from a trip to Las Vegas last week.  Went to a conference for work, and brought my wife along and wrapped a few vacation days around the conference.  Vegas lived up to my expectations - it is a place designed to seperate people from their money.  The highlight of the trip was a visit to the Hoover dam.  It is a very impressive structure.  We also stopped at the Lake Mead visitor's center.  Interesting displav on the desert and topography around Las Vegas.

If we go back, it will be with the trailer and we will camp in the desert - nice and quiet out there.

Mom's estate is well on the way to settlement, so that is another worry that is fading.

The building inspector came by today and approved my rough in plumbing work on the bathroom remodel project, so on to the next setp there too.

The high school robotics team went to a meet in Wisconson last week.  Ended up ranked 15th out of 58 teams, and on the #7 seated alliance for the tournament.  Unfortunately, they got knocked out in the first round.  They also won the Delphi Excellence in Engineering award.  They are off to the national championship meet in Texas next week.

No train news.

Winter has not quite given up here yet.  Woke up to 1" of snow on the vehicles Monday.

About all for now.

Good evening from overcast 40°F Southern Ohio,

I slept really good today.  In bed by 0800 didn’t wake until 2:15 pm.  Started fixing a crossover panel for the All Aboard layout for the train room.  SIL has a wall paper steamer and she is on vacation so I’ll wait until she returns to start stripping the wall paper.  I did a little measuring and the room is about 12’10” x 12’4”.  One window a double closet door and an entry door.  Ceilings are 7’8” finished.  I think for now after prepping the room I’m going to set up the All Aboard panels in a 3 x 5 configuration that will have 4 switches controlling 3 loops.  Finished it will be 51”x 85”.  It will be set on two 30” x 96” tables.  This will provide enough space for the 17 x 17 panels and a boarder.  It will not be “crafted” but it will be a layout.  The backdrop along the back wall is going to be my 790 Trainarama.

My bride got called to her mom’s house.  Her mom fell and the two of them spent the rest of the afternoon in the ER.  Her mom is ok and was dismissed, but the ER docs are concerned about her heart.  The valve she had replaced a year or so ago is not doing as well as hoped it would.

Fife – you’re a good guy.  You’ve got lots of projects and still help others!

Don – I can identify with your situation and Kay running back and forth.

Got to go

Good Night and may God bless

Jim

Aloha. Sunny and supposed to be warmer today! I hope. Fife, I am now officially tired on your behalf. Wish we were neighbors.

I had to go back to the ER last night - just getting worse and worse from last week's kidney stone surgery but thankful they found an infection. I got new meds and got to go home. I feel better already this morning and hope this means I have turned a corner. It is impacting my planning for the bride's birthday this weekend!

Cloudy and 37 with tiny snow flakes floating around this morning. Hi of 50 so they say. So far we are still getting March weather.

Doug hope your feeling even better this morning. I think he likes those hospital drugs. Keeps going back for more.

Off to a funeral home this afternoon to say goodbye to a friend and club member. No bigger train fan could exist. If it was a train event Victor was gonna be there.

Mornin' Fellas

Fife's work list is tiresome! LOL!

Sitting here finishing a project and something was making a racket on the metal roof above the bow window in the office. I went to investigate (sounded like a chunk of frozen snow sliding off, but we haven't had snow in a while). Open the front door and step onto the porch, only to have our resident black squirel dive over my head into the azalea bush! Holy Crapolla Batman! He was sitting in the bush chattering at me, so I told him to stay off the house, there are plenty of nice oak trees for him to build his house in. BTW he is rather impressicve, darkest black squirel I've ever seen. Hope the local hunters don't make stew out of him.

Heading to Pittsburgh this weekend to do some work on the rental. Going to be a long day Saturday. Don't like that I will miss Christina's soccer game. Sad

Hello there,

replaced the inside door handle on the Tahoe today. Sure beats rolling the window down to get out. Spent a half hour trying to get the inner panel off the door. 5 minutes on you tube I learned how to get it and the handle off..Tomorrow I'm going to see why it's pulling to the left under hard braking.

Also spent a couple hours working on the porch. Reassembly has begun! !!!

88.......you gonna make York? ?

Bed is calling.

Evening all!

A very nice day in the 80's. Same for tomorrow.

88 - would be good to see you next week in York.

Banks - i use YT a lot to solve problems. It is an amazing resource for some things. Glad that worked out.

DougM - hope you are continuing to improve!

Kev - glad you guys are finally getting a bit of a warmup!

A really good friend in TN is being rushed/flown to Nashvile Vanderbilt Hosp after being diagnosed with an aortic dissection. 6 hr operation, very serious, and risky. She could use all the prayers you can muster.

Good evening all,

Prayers for your friend, Roy.  Busy day at work.  Weather nicer for walk, but still not great.  Off to St. Louis tomorrow.  Daughter wanted to stay late for physical therapist appointment.  Not going to happen as I have to be at work on Friday.  Will try to squeeze in earlier.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning,

Will be summer today and then snow Sunday. 73 with sun today.

They finished construction on our planned “last” residence Tuesday. So, Wife and I will be going to give final inspection before making the last payment. We are in no hurry to occupy. I will post pictures when we get back.

Sorry about your friend Roy, that is a very bad deal. Prayers for a good outcome. Angel

If you are over 65 and on medicare they will pay for an ultrasound to check for that condition. I had it done last year after my friend had a aortic embolism that took his life.

Banks, a lot of times that will be a bad caliper on the opposite side that it pulls to. Pistons binding and not applying as much pressure. Also, if that is the case that wheel and hub may get real hot. Just a thought and something to look at.

Best get with it.

It came out very good and matches the others well.

Left to right, Stepmother Dixie, Dad, Mom, Me. Sandra, Two more Myers plots and then Grandpa Webb, and Grandma Webb.

Plainfield Township Cemetery.

Sounds good. I'll see you in line! LOL!

I'll be there, not sure I can make breakfast as I have to get Christina on the bus and drop Matthew off at pre-school... unless TheVP can work from home...

Morning all!

Thank you for your prayers. My friend made it through the surgery and came out around 5 this morning. Docs said it went well. She is in ICU for several days. She was quite healthy and in her 50's, so recovery should go well. Angel

Afternoon all!

80's and very breezy today.

Thanks again for the prayers for my friend. Big setback today with a heart attack. She was rushed back into surgery for more work on her heart. She survived but her chances are now just 50/50. If she (sedated) can make it 2-3 days her chances will improve. Things are very dicey now. Hope for the best. Her family is there with her.

We spend a lot of summers in TN and our kids grew up together, playing on the lake.

Kev - that is over to top preparation!

Roy, So sorry,,, what she has is bad, GOD bless her, that is one thing that is hard to come through. Most,,,don't,,, why I said get the ultrasound.

As for what we did, Yep,  Morebid,,,but,,, It takes the load and fight away from the kids and is something we al know will be there. So, not over the top, just on top of the top.   Why leave it to them? It to me is take away the fight when I am gone.... To each his own. Wink My mom died when I was 6 so I have a other view than those like wifey who has parents in their 90s.
