Afternoon all!

Massive changes around the house means sacrificing online time.  Hopefully once renovations are done I can get back to more train time.

Hope everyone is enjoying the 4 letter S word.  This weather sure separates the men from boys out there on the roads.  I suggest that awarding Canadian citizenship is only possible after extensive winter driving excersises and tests.

Talked to dad in Santa Ana this morning.  His warm and sunny forecast didn't help my mood either! Super Angry

Train show tomoorow.  Might just go, if I can dig myself out..

Afternoon all!

Started around 40 this am and continued down. Been holding at 34 this afternoon but mid-20's tonight and cold tomorrow. Some concern for ice showers tonight.

Relaxing and watching Olympics all day.

Chief, that garbage episode sounds like what happened in the movie "Alice's Restaurant" with Arlo Guthrie.  Good detective work.

Good evening all,

Good day to stay indoors.  Wife cut hair, I went to Mass, watched Indy car live stream of practice.  Foyt team still among the top speeds.  Local high school girls' team won regional in basketball.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning,

I ran out of time to post yesterday. I spent most of the day building drawers for the comic book storage cabinet and honey-do items.  I also acted as a taxi to transport the princess to and from the mall. I am happy she found a group of kids to befriend. Then the wife and I went out to a nice restaurant for dinner. I had a delicious filet mignon. It rained all day yesterday and looks like that will continue today. I will be on a plan later this afternoon as I have to fly to Colorado for work. It is a very short trip and I will be home late tomorrow night.

Rob - The Leafs are doing well this season; much better than the Oilers.

Great detective work Chief.

Good day,

Joe

15 degrees and 5"+ of new snow on the ground,,,,,,,,,,Enough already. Temps will fall all day to -8 tonight so I had better get to it now.

Wow that took awhile.

Got everyone cleaned out finally and used the snow blower to make the paths to the shed and burn pile and now it is snowing again!!! We have way over a foot out there now.

Looks like a fun time Banks! You need MORE snow for that sled! Smile, Wink & Grin.

Morning.  Rainy and extra warm.  Unblievable.  Being lazy this AM.  Nothing on agenda today.  Maybe Train Box again.

Got to take a friend to Will Allen's newest layout tomorrow.  You may remember his layouts have been featured in most model train magazines.  Haven't seen his latest one.  He has been asking me to come by and see it.  Great guy.

Way to go Banks.

Have a great week ahead.

Morning all!

20's this am. Brutal damp. No ice yet. 29 right now and still some slight chance for ice/sleet, but to hit 40 today so it will not last.

Vegging out on Olympics, live and recorded. Favorite event is short track skating. Particularly the relay. Chaos! Like NASCAR, only LEFT turns Thumbs Up

Talkin about NASCAR - 7 days to Daytona!!!!

Banks - great fun!

Kev - nice snow - so to speak!

Good evening guys,

I Was going to watch the NASCAR clash but our neighbor Brain broke his snow plow so I spent the whole afternoon showing him how to rebuild it. It was so old it wore the pivot bolt support out and the plow separated from the mount. So I got him a steal plate I had and drilled a new hole into it then he welded it to the frame so we could re-assemble it. Better than new!!! Took the better part of a six pack....LOL  BeerBeerBeerBeerBeer

Who won the clash???  Huh?

Good evening all,

Did 12 miles in 3:18:46.  First 11 miles was under 3 hours.  Just strolled the last one.  Came home, ate, fell asleep in chair.  Weather cold but wife was able to make it to Bloomington to help daughter.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Who won the clash???  Huh?

Keslowski - Johnson and several others (K Bush, etc.) got taken out again (for Johnson, taken out 7 times in a row at the Clash) on the last lap. Forget who hit Johnson in the rear that started the crashes as a bunch of cars have new wraps and some drivers new numbers. Will take some time to get used to the new schemes.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 39 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  EPA duties calling today.  Need a haircut as well.

I thought the NASCAR race was a good one.  Didn't think I would like the Camaro in the top circuit, but it's growing on me.

Just stopped by to say we finally have full sun and 25 degrees today. Warmer by mid week.

Good to hear that George is doing better.

Aloha. Sunny. Cold (15 right now). I'm officially sick of snow - what has it been, Kev, nine days in a row with measurable white stuff? Tied some sort of record. Anyway, I'm running out of places to put it along the driveway. And I think my broken snowblower is laughing at me - good thing I have two strong young assistants with good shovels to help me. But it could be worse - and we're on the back side of winter anyway! Forgot about the NASCAR race...

Good Evening,

I'd swear I had a post in yesterday, but it sure isn't there.  Oh well.

Weather sure cooled down today, 60, possibility of rain tomorrow.

My latest issue in the train room, (hopefully someone will learn from my mistakes).  In redoing the track plan, wiring pretty much all the switches for the non-derailing.  Was concerned that the trigger point was to close on some of the switches, so no issue just move the trigger point back some.  (4-6 inches).  Ok works well, untill.....   Start operating more and leave some cars on a couple of tracks relatively close to some switches.  What happens is when a train passes on a companion track, it throws the switch, or tries.  But the car on the siding is fighting it.  Results in burning up switch motor.  Errg!  Ended up frying two.  So moving the trigger points, and painted ties at trigger yellow to prevent parking to close to the trigger.

Did go to the train show this past week-end.  Saw Ray, he is really looking good.  Had a nice chat.  Didn't buy anything but enjoyed the time.

Roy, Sounds like you may be working on stuff in preparation for York.  Sounds good.

The Olympics are quite interesting to watch, enjoying them.  And glad that NASCAR starting this weekend.  (Lloyd is attending Race Week in Daytona).

Isn't it a little early for the spring melt down?  Sure hope its not all at once.  We've had enough issues in the past 12 months.

Take care all, dinner ready.

Hi folks, I went to the TTOS meet Sunday also and had a chat with Don Baker.  BTW, thanks for the compliment on looking good Don.  I probably looked better than I felt.  Saw a few old friends and my buddies Bob and Larry.  Spent the whole day with my oldest son Gary today which was nice and we took care of some business together then had lunch out.  We made hotel reservations for the Virginia leg of our East Coast Trip in April.  Still have to work out the part in North Carolina.  Need more information from my relatives.  My sister is still in extended care after leaving the  hospital and when they release her she will live with her daughter since she can no longer take care of herself at home.  They are putting her house up for sale and selling the furniture.  Kind of sad but it has to be done.  My brother in Virginia is still fighting his battle with stage 4 cancer as well but he is still at home with his family.  A lot of heavy duty stuff going on lately and I will be glad when I can get motivated to get back to my train layout and play with that.  Have a good week all,

Ray

Good morning,

I returned home from Colorado late last night. I showered and went straight to bed. I like Colorado: it is cold and snowy. I will not go to the office today as we have some of our household items coming today. It is not our big shipment. It is a smaller one that contains more cookware, linens, and clothes. The rest of our items will arrive on the 21st.

Good day,

Joe

Working on a CTI signaling system for a layout. 64 control rails, 50+ signals. Lotta wiring. Big control board. Interesting.
