Fife, you and Banks better flip a coin to see what pot we use this month! Laugh

Nice out but temps will fall all day down to 4 overnight for the low.

Pension payday so it is off to town for supplies. Wink

Hello there,

Tried to start a new pot but Fife and I must've been typing at the same time. Not sure what the day might bring but best move on.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RT

I see the Chief was asleep in his easy chair last night.

35 this morning, going down through the day to 11 overnight. Most of the snow is gone but we have a new batch ordered for the weekend.

Tax time is coming again. I have ours done, what would take me all afternoon he does in 30 minutes.

Morning all. No real plans for today. I have a few 810's series Prewar train cars coming in today, A 810 crane and a couple of 812 gondola's to go with it. but man these 810 series are not cheap lol. Probably because they look so much better than like the 650's series as there almost twice the size of the 650's series one.

Buckeye,

I sent an e-mail titled Friday to John and Ryan this morning and John reminded me it is Thursday. I reminded him that not knowing the day of the week is a sign of a successful retirement!  Now you know where to set the bar!  Laugh

After this past January, I'm happy to see February arrive.  On January 14, just 5 days after my birthday, my father passed away from the return of his pancreatic cancer.

I've been really not online much, due to working on the paperwork and everything with my mom (my parents live about 40 minutes from me, so I would just drive there each morning and go home after dinner).

I never thought anything could be this painful, and it was horrible to see him deteriorate.  But he isn't suffering anymore.

It's taking time, but we're working everything out.  Glad to be back on here, helping to keep my mind off things.

RoyalBlue,

So sorry for your loss.  If there is any solace in this it would be that for your parents to go before you is the natural order of things and if they lived long they did well. Angel

Prayers for healing.

Spent today in the train room; mostly working on my 2.0 fleet...  Traction tires, charging batteries, disassembling 2 RailKing steamers.  Here's a new one: the momentum strip that activates the synchronized chuffs, you know, the one secured to the flywheel, d-e-t-e-r-i-o-r-a-t-e-d into shreds.  Hmmmm...

Wifey ready to strangle the adjuster from Allstate.

Hello there,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RT

ended up spending the day putting the Oliver back together. Need to fine tune the brake adjustment but it's ready to go. Got to fine tune the saw a little to get the belt to run true. Also rounded up the parts I bought a while back to build an electronic voltage regulator for it. Want to get that done if it's being used regularly.

FIFE..........wayyyy back when the car hit my house talk of a Lawyer got them off dead center. You have any interest in the Altoona show????????

BuckeyeSad about YORK. looking forward to your pics

Off to bed soon.

Good evening all,

Semi busy day at work.  Got all caught up on cases for the  first of the month, which is a good thing.  Weather getting colder.  Walk at noon was brisk.  RoyalBlue, sending thoughts and prayers your way.  Happy birthday, RT.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening,

The temperature hit a high of 50 or so today.  I had a pleasant day at work but I believe tomorrow will be quite hectic.  The wife made roast beast for dinner and it was delicious.  She used a pressure cooker (Instapot) and it was ready in less than 30 minutes.  We have used it quite a bit since we moved here as we do not have all our cookware and I am most impressed with it.  It's late and I am ready for bed.

Royal Blue - I am sorry for your loss.

Happy Birthday RT!

Good night,

Thank you all for your well wishes and kind words.  Happy memories include us going to train shows, as well as Strasburg and New Hope for trips there.

One big responsibility, apart from taking care of all the pension and life insurance paperwork for my mom, is that now I am custodian of not only my train collection, but his.  Trains from the 1920's until about the 1980's were what he collected, and quite a bit of them.

As time passes, this sadness and pain will not be as great as now, and will only become a small part of the long history, most of which was happiness.

Good Morning from Sunny 15°F Southern Ohio,

I've been busy at work and studying the online management course the diocese requested me to take.  Tomorrow will be driving to Columbus for the face time part of the class.  I've got some discerning to do.  The Manager of training has asked me to consider becoming the trainer for the facilities in our department.  It is a position I held years ago and enjoyed.  It would be a 40-hour work week instead of a 50-hour workweek as I'm doing now, and no night shifts, both which is a real incentive.  On the flip side the supervisors I was hired to replace are both leaving soon and will replace them.  Looks like an opportunity to do a little leveraging.

I'm sitting in the dining room looking up the hill watching the deer and squirrels at the corn feeder.  I think I'll let it warm up a bit and do some more tree trimming.

My bride and I decided to post pone the purchase of the scraper blade till next fall unless we happen upon a good deal.  After all of the other outgoing of funds associated with the new house we judged we should wait.  Hopefully we won't have too many big snow falls left in this winter season.  I measured our driveway and it is a ¼ mile long from the street to the garage.

My bride is having a relapse of the flu crud.  She never fully got over it and now is back.

The oldest twin Felicity came through the surgery for the kidney stone good.  They removed several and put in a stint to help pass the rest.  Man, she has a high pain tolerance!

I too am glad to see January pass.  It is hard to believe in a little over two weeks it will be Lent!

Royal Blue – may God have mercy on your Dad's soul

RT – Happy Birthday

may God bless

Jim

Morning,

Day started at 4 degrees. Going to light a fire. All the snow they have been yacking about has been pushed out two more days.

Brain our neighbor came over Tuesday evening with some nice new leftover carpet from a job he was on and dropped it off so we can carpet the basement staircase on Saturday. That will be nice. Won't hurt so bad next time I decide to fall down them. Bang Head

Evening all!

Cool one today starting at 33, overcast, and up to 53, sunny.

Well we now have 15 full boxes of papers/files to shred...taking it to the shredding place tomorrow. Also working on rearranging files after emptying all the boxes and file drawers. Wife and I working from home the last 10 years piled up a lot of stuff we had no time to go through before I retired. Glad to be getting to it. Long way to go - esp when I hit the train closets!

Heading out for some Chinese food tonight with the usual neighbors group.

RT - Happy B-Day

Regards, Roy

Hello there,

sitting in Altoona's Jaffa Mosque waiting to hear a BEACH BOYS cover band whose name escapes me. When I checked yesterday at least half of the tickets were still available.

Today was spent on  mass house husband duties and  clearing enough stuff away from the treadmill to use it.

Back later or tomorrow

Good evening,

The temperature dropped considerably overnight and today. It was in the 20s most of the day and it was awfully windy. The workday was not too hectic but the wife and I ran to IKEA this evening which definitely made for a busy evening.  I am looking forward to sleeping late tomorrow morning.

Good night,

Joe
