What is the number of the set, and what is the cab number of the locomotive?Larry
I recently purchased the Lionel RS-3 SOO line freight starter set at a train show. The engine was either never used or slightly used. It runs but with an issue. When I switch directions after stopping it will sometimes stick and not move. There is a wheezing/whining sound coming from the motor. I have flipped it over and examined the gears as thoroughly as I can. They do seem a little loose but maybe they are supposed to be that way. But when I try and manually move them back and forth to see where they catch it appears as though the motor's gear is what is sticking. I really have no clue as to what is going on. I understand it is a "cheaper" engine and is not going to run as good as the goodies, but this seems a little weird for a slightly to never used engine. Can anyone help, PLEASE!!!
