Z 4000 controls stiff
Posted by Dave632 on Sunday, October 20, 2013 1:51 PM

I don't know how many use the Z 4000 but here is a repair I made on mine.

The controls were kind of stiff and the adjustment on the bottom made little difference.

I took the top off and found that there was no lube on the control surface's  where

they ride on the case. I used a silicon grease to lube the case and control where

they made contact. Be sure to align the arrows back up on re-assembly or the digital display

will not zero when the control is turned to off.

The controls were very smooth after the lubrication. Surprised the factory does not put any lube on these surfaces.
