Taking a cue from the "Home Improvement" reference in the title (I don't think so, Tim!) I thought it might be fun to pull out MORE POWER this Sunday!
First up, a trio of Marx Tinplate windup projects:
From left to right: Marx 6000 diesel converted to clockwork with a specially modified 4 wheel drive Marx windup motor, the "1203" Triplex clockwork kitbashed from a couple of Marx 401 locomotives and plastic tender powered by 3 Marx windup motors, and finally the "866" Cab Forward clockwork kitbashed from a couple of 833 Marx locomotives, powered by 2 Marx windup motors. (Insert your own Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor grunts here!) Three locomotives designed to straighten out Marx slot-n-tab couplers on 6" tin cars...
Next up, American and British tin, side by side:
On the left is a Weeden No. 1 O gauge live steam locomotive, circa 1931 - '33. On the right is a postwar Walker-Riemsdyk controlled clockwork locomotive, a nice little 0-6-0 tank engine that knows how to generate tractive effort!
As always, I enjoy seeing everyone's pictures...

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Sometime back I fabricated a gondola cover for one of my cars.
Though the above photo doesn't really show it, I was unable to match the exactly color of the cover to the body of the gondola. And this bugged me.
So as a next step in the project I repainted a faded old green T&P 631 using the same paint. I then re-decaled the car with an AF reproduction PRR decal set from LBR Enterprises. I am much happier with the result.
Anybody else have some repaints/restores they wish to share?
