The basic parts for the sliding shoe are shown here.   You need the rivet, shoe and plate, as seen in the diagram for the 'coupler truck complete'. Parts are available from most online parts dealers or a repair shop. After assembling the shoe and clinching the rivet over, the wire gets soldered to the rivet end. Use a small soldering iron, or you chance melting the shoe.

GG-1 2332 end truck coupler wire repair
Posted by bradkelly55 on Friday, August 2, 2013 11:08 PM

Good evening, I recently purchased a 2332 and while disassembling the unit noticed that the wire lead inside both end trucks was loose. I disassembled one truck but was not able to locate where the wire lead from the coupler coil assembly should be connected.  Also both sliding shoe assemblies were missing and that may be the attachment point. I hope to replace the sliding shoes to complete the project. Any ideas were the wire lead attaches?

Thanks for help
