Bob:   Problem solved.   I changed the 153C contactor and all is OK. Thanks, again.

Bob: Thanks. Like I said, it has been used. I'm sure the wiring hook-up is ok. I'll recheck the actual wiring. Thanks, again.

Only one light should be on at a time.  The two outer terminals of the 153 should connect to terminals 1 and 2 of the 153C, which are the two 153C terminals that are on the same side of the 153C.  Then the center terminal of the 153 and the lonesome terminal 3 of the 153C connect to the power supply.

Unless someone has rewired your 153.

Lionel 153 Block Signal "Help"
Posted by traindaddy1 on Saturday, July 13, 2013 10:17 AM

Well, here we go again with "Senior Moments"

Just picked up a Lionel Block Signal 153 (used) and attached it to a 153C Contactor.

The green light displays and the red light comes on when the train goes over the contactor and goes out after the train passes.

Question: Throughout the entire operation, however, the green light stays on.

Is this normal or should the green light go out while the red light is on?

(I'm pretty sure I followed the wiring instructions but, then, these senior moments do pop up)

As always, many thanks.
