DMIR 29807 Coal Dump Car
Posted by steve24944 on Saturday, October 20, 2012 3:02 PM

I have a 6-29807 coal dump car.  ( Built 2005 by Lionel )

The dump body will stick in the up position and wont go back down ( sometimes it will - but mostly it sicks in the up position )   I took it apart and cleaned the plunger-pin and the tube in the coil with isopropyl alcohol, and put her back together.  She still does the same thing - sticks in the up position.  Should the plunger be lubricated with some oil ?  I don't want to put any oil in some place where I should not.

I don't think it's the dump body, because I tested the operation before putting the dump body back on, and the plunger still was sticking in the up position.  It will go back down with a slight push.

Any ideas ?

Steve
