I too loaded Netscape 7.1 on my computer and we had to get rid of it because Netscape 7.1 interfered with a couple of other software programs that we use, like our mail system. I'm on a Mac. Thus, with the older netscape version, sometimes, the whole system would simply crash. No problems now w/explorer

I have no problem at all with Netscape 7.1. Pages load up within a blink of an eye!

Many websites are designed exclusively for Internet Explorer users since, for 95% of web surfers, it is the browser of choice. With that said, I use Netscape 7.1 on my five year old Windows 98 computer. I tried using Mozilla, but found that it froze up in the middle of transactions on my bank's secure website. Seems strange that Netscape would work and and Mozilla wouldn't, since they are built on the same platform.

In the past when I used an old version of Netscape (4.5), this forum would not load well for me so I did not even lurk here. With a new hard drive needing to be loaded I tried Netscape 7.1, and lo and behold it loads all sites much faster than the old version, and loads this one well. I have yet to have difficulty loading any site with 7.1. 7.1 is based on Mozilla, so a future project will be to download Mozilla and see if it works even better. I have refused to use IE because of greater susceptibility to contracting viruses.
Frank Dz, if its worth doing, its worth doing to wretched excess.

Today, I moved my CTT bookmark from Netscape to Explorer and found that the load times improved 200%.

On my Mac, Netscape sucks. Thanks, Explorer.

(I don't know what version it is)
