Lionel Ep-5 on 027 curves?

I am thinking about picking up a Lionel New Haven EP-5. I was curious if anyone runs this engine on 0-27 track and how does it do? Will it take 0-27 switchs?

I have two EP-5's (one postwar Lionel and the other MPC).  My old layout had some 027 curves mixed in with 042's and Lionel 042 switches and I never had any problem with either of the EP-5's going through them.  The MPC EP-5 (since re-equipped with a Williams can motor and electronic reverse) had some problems with its traction tires which I thought might have been due to the 027 curves and was one of my motivations for going to O-31.

Hope this helps.
